AkiMatti Instead of giving gifts of specific games to your friends it would be so cool to be able to give this kind of gift cards so they could select a game for themselves! That way they would get to know the great selection you actually have here and possibly get hooked, hehe! But really, I've been doing Christmas shopping here every year from when you started and this would be such a good option. Sometimes the game I've selected might not be as good as I thought and that is a bummer.
screeble_mcgroo Plus one to this. I have some money tied up in Amazon gift cards. I want to get Phantom Liberty, but I bought Cyberpunk 2077 through GoG. I could buy a steam gift card and buy it through there, if I had bought the base game through Steam.

old_n_grumpy I would love to drop some money into my brothers GOG Wallet for Christmas. Looks like he will be getting a Steam Digital Gift Card instead. If GOG could add this as an option I would certainly purchase them.

Heard complaints about the cost of physical cards and the possibility that under-age children could purchase titles they shouldn't...but would think there's solutions around both of those.
Digital certificates would seem to go right along with digital downloads *smirk*, and a mandatory account sign up and age verification would seem reasonable.
Heck, would even be happy for "adult-only" gift certificates to help my brother-in-law move away from Steam. *smirk*

Mortarah It would be great to have a form of gift cards. Even if it's only to add funds to someone else's GOG wallet. Probably a lot of missed opportunities here.
Chloe (Enty) I know I've bought games off Steam as I was able to get a wallet card from trading in old games or I just happened to think of a game I was getting and got a wallet card instead of using my credit card with it. I just got a couple games off GoG recently as I wanted them DRM free. But I'd think that people seeing a GoG card next to a Steam Card and advertising DRM free games on the card would garner curiosity and then far more sales for GoG. I know I TRY to tell people about GoG but when I tell them we don't carry giftcards or they aren't made people lose interest. I really think it would garner more sales. Especially with everything else going on today. I and many others would probably also double or even triple dip on games just to have DRM free copies. Boosting sales all around.

Ophiosen I'm shocked this isn't an option. Does GOG have zero interest in the gifts market?? I was looking for a gift for my wife for her birthday and had decided to get her a GOG gift card to give her the greatest options... Only to realize GOG just doesn't offer that option. So Steam got our business, instead. How is this acceptable to GOG?
morphranox I suspect most parents would rather give their kids gift cards with a set budget, instead of risking their kids buying every game in the library if the parent forget to not save the cc details.
For paranoia/ security I only put personal info into one pc, and it's not my gaming pc. I much rather limit my exposure risk by buying gift cards than putting my info every single site. I want DRM free games especially on my new steam deck which probably won't have super reliable wifi all of the time.
I want to give out peoples favorite DRM free games via gift cards so they can choose their favorites. I want to push for DRM free and coincidentally your company as long as that remains a core value

JakobFel I really need this. I'm a non-credit card holder who prefers just buying stuff with cash. The number one reason I still buy from Steam more than GOG is the fact that they have cards like these so it makes it easiest for me to get games there.

Obakemono We need gift cards indeed, i sometimes win a gift card on some LAN tournaments and despite being an option to choose what store i want the card from, i can never choose gog since well... there are no cards.

Seidon This would be a great idea. There are so many games that I would like to give as a gift (an actual surprise gift) for my husband that are on either Steam on GOG. In order to do that I have to give him a Steam card or wake up Christmas morning before him (we have two kids so yeah right) and purchase it and then stick a card under the tree or in a stocking. If I don't wait he'll find it early.
And this would really pull people away from Steam and Epic and Origin where you can give gift cards. Pretty please with silver paper and ribbons of gold?

ryosen While it would be great to have the option for gift cards, I can understand why they may not sell them. For a retailer, they're a pain in the ass tax-wise. In the US, at least, different states have different requirements for retailers having to report issued and unused gift cards as unclaimed property. It's a compliance headache.

Mickelangello I don't really understand how this is still not a thing. It should be priority 1. I will get like my 50th Steam gift card on Christmas. All of them could have been GOG gift cards. Do we ask too much if we want to give you our money? Or am I missing something?

Dianwei Gift cards are sounds good idea to me, because younger gamers dont had own bank account so they can purchase gift cards to imput codes from that cards into website to gain some money to purchase favorite game.

enigmaxg2 One of the biggest reasons I jumped ship from torrents to legit games are gift cards, when Steam ones began to be sold in my country (where credit cards are rare because the excessive fees) I dumped all my pirate games and bought them (if were available on Steam). I wish GOG gets the same so I can spend more here, I want TRUE competition to Steam and I'd like to see my money go to actual, decent competitors like this and not the Epic joke store.

Charad0n Another advantage to having gift cards is that you'll be able to use crypto currency on gog by buying the gift cards through third parties. Honestly, there's no downside to having gift cards available for purchase.
Andtha How I see it, just add a title (like, a game) that is really a vaucher. Once could by "the game" "gift card $x.xx" and gift it to a friend. When (s)he redeems "the game" (s)he will instead get the specific amount into their wallet instead, so they can buy any game they like. I would definitely buy such a gift card...
Braggadar Indeedy. I would purchase far more from GOG if GOG gift cards were as available IRL in Australian retail stores as Steam cards are. I hate mucking around with alternatives.

My mother in-law always buys me some Steam gift cards for birthdays/Christmas.
I am trying to not buy games on Steam unless it is the only way to get a specific game. So I would love to tell her to buy me GOG gift cards instead, but unfortunately those don't exist, so I keep buying games on Steam when i could be spending the money on GOG instead.
