Do more to prevent developers from abandoning GOG users and updating only the version available from other stores (eg steam)

Too often do developers release games here and then stop supporting them wth updates and general customer support them whilst continuing to do so on other platforms. Too many developers seem to only release their games here as an afterthought or just in the hopes we'd all buy the games and not care about it not getting often vital updates. And too many developers don't offer any support on GOG forums, instead requring us to go over to steam to find any customer support. Perhaps GOG could put it in the contract with developers that they have to support their games on this platform in the same way they do on other platforms, ormaybe there is some other way GOG can tackle this issue. But we shouldn't have to be deprived of often vital updates to fix game breaking bugs, extra content freely available elsewhere or even just simple customer support. These things, if released/available everywhere else, should be available here too, or else what's the point in buying them from here?

I can't believe this is still an issue in 2021. It's embarrassing that gog doesn't try to be a little more enforcing of fair practices and equal treatment for all customers and protecting their customers from being abandoned. Star Wars Empire at War is way ahead on updates in steam. This means it's supposedly much more stable on steam, and a very large amount of modders have updates only the steam version of their mods, resulting in tons of unplayable mods for gog users.

GOG 'did' remove for 'Schein' and that buggy Steampunk game (Windforge?). If I remember correctly, both were over a year behind the steam versions.
But you are right: It shouldn't take _years_ for GOG to take actions. On the other hand, I would expect that it would be hard to keep taps on that many games, so if 'you' notice discrepancies, consider telling the support team.
