Continue to be a DRM-free store , today, tomorrow, and forever! in progress
they are publicly traded :/
Too late to upvote, so: + 1
If I wanted DRM, I could as well buy from Steam or worse shops, but I don't.
If that means that I only get some Gold Edition with all patches and DLCs 4 to 8 years later but still for a relatively high price: fine!
Not having much time to play I don't want to get expensive new GPUs every hardware generation anyway and barely fiish 2 games a year ;)
I bought Yakuza 7 at GOG launch in a heartbeat, cause I HATE Denuvo! Now you want to F*CK me with this Phantom Liberty Galaxy DRM stuff? How dare you!
FCKDRM and fuck corporations that want you to never own anything you buy.
DRM-free forever or bust
The ENTIRE reason I support and purchase games through GOG is because it's DRM free. If that changes, then what's the point of even buying games from GOG? Like most people, I do NOT like having to be dependent on a third party program and internet connection in order to play the games I purchased with my hard earned money. I want to freely play the games I purchased whenever I feel like playing them. Period.
Please never stop
DRM-Free and no games with ingame stores, game passes or dlc spamming...
I know, that you fell from grace. But will not help you, because at the point where I get all those fucking DRM games and millions of DLCs in my searches, I will be gone from GOG.
Yes! I'd rather pay a higher price here than have to install a bunch of nonsense that others require. And also being able to play when at times my ISP goes down. I love the freedom of choice that GOG provides! Also, I don't play too many games at once so for me is perfect!
+1 :)
DRM-Free is why I get games from GOG.
I Like The in progress Flag .
DRM-Free forever
Keep it up guys, you're the best way to collect games digitally :)
...and ever even after ^ Go_G! Keep it up and visible, what differentiates you from other stores is ideology... everything else can be bought or downloaded. So... Go go go! Come on G! More ideology!
DRM-Free forever
DRM-Free is always right for me.
I buy on gog because it's drm free. If there is a drm, then I'll go back to steam, where they also support linux...
Folks, look at the DRM-Unfree DLCs for Fishing North Atlantic. GOG broke this wish! That's the fact, as well as accidents like Hitman GOTY.
DRM free is why I shop with you guys. I've been with you since the first beta days (2007?) I support you because of DRM-free.
Sunken cost fallacy. Steam users have sunken in so much time and money into a platform pushing convenience at the expense of paying customers. I'd hate the idea that this platform will turn out different. Ownership matters, by principle alone. Respect matters too. No more of this shit.
agreed. this service is largely garbage. come join our environment! we're like steam, pictureofwomensayingtheyrenotlikeothergirls.wojack
Continue? That ship has sailed a long time ago. Might as well bin this request now or change it to 'Return to being a DRM-free store'.
The reason people support GOG. How can this even be a discussion?
DRM free games is what GoG is about and should always be about. DRM is awful especially when you play an older game you bought long ago and that garbage pops up telling you to go online to log into some long dead server to activate your game. Buying from GoG is reassuring that we don't need to worry about that.
It was thanks to GOG that I realized how essential DRM-Free stuff is. That's why I don't like Steam or most storefronts that sell you just a more sophisticated rental service, instead of allowing you to OWN the things you buy.
GOG MUST adhere to that DRM-Free commitment, it's the reason why they have succeed and why they are still alive
Reading your comments I feel shamed. I am collector of games bought so much in last 11 years but they are not DRM free, mostly on steam... But lately Im thinking what if i switch to gog. Sure I will have to buy bunch of them again, but I didnt know much about drm subject. To tell you the truth I like steam less and less each day and I like what gog is offering. What do you think? Should I switch?
agree

Given their recent announcement (GOG 2022 update #2), it's now clear they have no intention of fulfilling that wish.
The day that the products you sell are no longer free of Despicable Restrictions Manure (DRM) will be the last day and the last penny I spend on GoG. As the old saying goes, «For DRM-free games there is GoG, for everything else there is BitTorrent».
As a long-time gamer, having access to DRM free games via a digital storefront is very dear to me.
Only DRM-free catalog is the only reason I considered GOG as a THE safe place for gaming. Having non fully DRM-free content in the catalog is a stab in the back.
i am here because its a DRM-free store
Does No Man's Sky have DRM? :/

+1 because I can't vote on it since it's "in progress"
I wish GOG didn't lie about being DRM Free, their idea of DRM free is tying it to the GOG client for multiplayer, their definition of DRM free seems to be for single player off network games only. And this is a joke, especially with some games gated behind needing multiplayer to get the full unlocked content.
This didn't age well.
присутствие игры "Hitman" 2016 года ставит под сомнение статус "в работе" этого запроса сообщества GOG
And while you're at it, remove Hitman, Northgard and No Man's Sky from the store because they have DRM.
By now, more than ever, the 'in progress' sticker is a lie. Please replace it with an 'abandoned' note, GOG!
In Regress
"in progress" PFFFT
HITMAN 2016 has DRM
this ended miserably
GoG lost respect in buckets with only a single game ... If it becomes like Steam I will stop buying. You should aim to be the best store, not the least worst one!
I wish GOG remained Good Old Games, but it's more like Average New Games nowadays and we already got Steam for that.
I guess this is no longer "in progress". What a disappointment. Hitman 2016 has DRM so there's no way this can still be in progress.
