yunix For games that are compatible with gamepads such as the Xbox 360 controller for Windows right out of the box, add an icon to indicate this for help of finding games that can be played on media centers and other systems that have gamepads connected to them.
nopism Please make sure that the store pages are updated. There are still many games that are advertized as having gamepad support on Steam but not on GOG. It can't be that difficult to make a script to crawl Steam and detect inconsistencies...
Qhuenta yes!!!!!!!!! Steam supports all kinds of controllers, even in games taht never had controller support. It is a great feature!
Cheesewheeljones I had been holding off buying Psychonauts because it had no controller support tag. I don't like playing platformers on keyboard. Turns out it does support gamepads. I would have bought the game alot sooner if I had known this.
SalientLion There are a number of games on GOG that are not tagged as 'controller support', even though they have controller support built in. Worms WMD is a recent example. Please can you make sure this is consistent?

silent49 Yes please. Some games just play better with a controller then KB+M. That and I'd sometimes like to just use a controller. Steam has this and it shouldn't be hard for GOG to do.

Golffies Looks like the request has been partially fulfilled over the time. Ny now GoG flags the games which are gamepad compliant. It was not the case in 2013 when the request was issued.
GoG chose to keep the information visible as a text label not an icon. This is all that remains from the original request. Likely it is a choice by design.

Steam do it well, by indicating whether a gamepad can be used throughout or is limited to just the game itself with full and partial support icons respectively.
Blackacidevil138 Yes please. This would be very convenient. Though most modern Indie and Retailgames support Controllers, an icon would be good.
BionicBull I have some games that I bought that support controllers, but it was not indicated on the game description for example: ALIENS VERSUS PREDATOR CLASSIC 2000.
Archimidis I can recall many games that really need to be played using a controller instead of the usual keyboard and mouse combo, and others that a controller is not really needed. Personally, I use a programmable controller for games falling in the first case, but that's not always ideal.
Being able to tell if a game supports a controller would be a nice plus. There is one thing that has to be added though: not all controllers are Xbox-compatible. I used PS-compatible controllers as well, and they are actually way better. So being able to tell what kind of controller is supported is a must.

DrRoxo I realize you're probably stretched thin between many different tasks, however this really needs to be added. I imagine it's probably a pain in the ass to get through all the games and check compatibility, but the longer this option is left to the side, the more games to sift through there will be by the time implementation begins.
astrotriforce First time ever commenting... I'm adding my voice to this chorus. I just added three games, not sure if I will buy them cause I don't know & doubt they support controller. As a primarily console gamer, I don't, and often won't, play mouse & keyboard. So you are losing business by not having this feature. I buy games on GOG (over 50 now in my collection) to support this DRM-free movement, but I'd buy much more if I could tell which games had controller support. As others have said, do it and then one-up Steam by adding more details. Controller support is one of the most important features a digital game can have these days. So it's baffling that GOG lacks it. Do your fans right and add it!

cainoct I would love this. I really don't like keyboard and mouse controls, and I don't like games consoles. I really don't want to buy from Steam unless I have to, and I don't want to take a risk on this site if a game on GOG turns out not have gamepad support compared to it's Steam counterpart.
The stated compatibility would need to differentiated by platform, since controller support is rather nebulous. (Windows especially because it has heavily locked-down drivers)
eg. 'DirectInput' or 'XInput' for Windows, and then for Mac and Linux (i'm guessing they are similar enough that Linux works the same way as Mac), just mentioning that it supports controller mapping of some sort for whatever controllers that have drivers/compatibility for those OSes.

this still depends on the game, it would be a HUGE help to know which interface (xinput, directinput, legacy) a game supports without having to google or cross-check the steam store page.

haraldknoop Please don't add a controller icon, if only one manufacturer is supported. ALL standard-PC-gamepads must be supported, not only that stupid X-Box-gamepad. The X-Box-gamepad is not the best but the WORST gamepad.

Rinu Yes please. I became used to play games that were designed for a console in mind with official Xbox controller. Sometimes I hesitate to buy a game simply because it isn't clear whenever it does support it natively or not.

sangley I completely agree. Controller support drives a lot of my game purchase decisions. I work on a computer all day and its nice to take a break from the keyboard and let my thumbs do all the work on a controller at night. I also agree with the two icon solution to differentiate full controller support vs unofficial support (tweaking or 3rd party mod required).
Arkose This would be very difficult since most older games have outdated controller support (e.g. specific limits on the number of buttons or axes the game can see), so just because a game supports controllers doesn't mean it will provide the sort of plug-and-play experience expected from newer games.

FlamingFirewire This would be so helpful and relatively easy to implement - if the game works out of the box without modification with an XBOX 360 controller, or other usb controller, it would be super appreciated so that I don't have to go through forums and threads for each game to find out if it works with a controller. Especially with newer game where it works out of the box. there should really be an indication on the game pages.
