Activate Uplay games here
Quote: "I don't see how Ubisoft would be against this, since I doubt I'm the only one who 100% refuses to buy any of their games thanks to the "awesome" need to have 2 game stores running at the same time online to play.
What got me so mad about them was my experience with Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon. I won the game on Steam, which I installed, and required me to activate it on Uplay too".
Comment:
Buy their game in THEIR store. Use THEIR client. I know, you want things to be on Steam. You can, but you HAVE TO ACCEPT the fact, that Uplay is Ubi's DRM.
Really you're asking for Ubisoft to make DRM free versions. Unfortunately I don't see it happening.
I've 'solved' my problems with Ubisoft by uninstalling the one game I had from them and deleting my account*. Sometimes you just have to cut your losses and carry on.
* By the way: Their customer support conveniently 'forgot' to delete my account - which I only found out about when I got an email about them updating their TOS several months later. Not that I'm bitter or anything...
I'll upvote this for multiplayer, but I have a question. Will the Uplay/Ubisoft Club benefits, like achievements, chat, and such work here? I never though much of this, since I figure all of those are part of or dependent on the DRM and wouldn't work well with GoG.
Casting my vote for this. Uplay just uninstalled itself from my computer, for whatever reason. Though it may be a blessing in disguise, according to what I've read. Not that I ever used it all that much anyway, but I would like to save the few games I've erroneously bought keys for (Humble Bundle. Didn't realize Uplay was a thing when I made the purchase in question. Yea, egg on my face).
