Ability to change username completed
This. "You can change your username by writing to support", no thanks it's 2019 and with platforms like steam we see that any risk comming with this feature is close to none
I love the option to change my username. Even if GOG charge a little bit to do that.
It would be great if your account was linked to an user id (like with Discord), so you can change your email and your username as much as you want (of course, you would still need to verify your email each time you change it before purchasing anything).
To the best of my knowledge, you can already ask GOG's support for a change.
And I have seen somebody do 'exactly that' after they've been a [insert you favorite curse word here] in the forums. And shortly after said name change they apparently got support to remove the thread in question altogether.
In conclusion: I see your point. In a perfect world it would make perfect sense. However, the feature you're asking for is...
1) abusable,
2) already here (albeit less visible/accessible) and
3) _already_ getting abused.
And that's why (in my opinion) our community doesn't need easier access to that feature, although it's a legitimate feature request with lots of legitimate applications.
I believe you're able to have your username changed through support, though it's not a particularly good user experience. I would like to see this feature implemented in the UI of your account settings.
This. I requested a username change at the beginning of May from support, still haven't heard anything except the automated responses.
I'd like to finally get an E at the end of my name...
This would be very useful. I have requested to have my username changed, but I have yet to hear back from GOG support.
