Dragon Ball had a humor typical for it's time, and for that sin is stomped by censorphip lover busybodies. GOG would be a nice home for it. Yes,I agree with Love & Thunder. As for me, some humor scenes made me laugh uncontrollably. I'm not going to spoil to non-initiates, but revolves around the Turtle Hermit and a wristwatch.

Yes! As good as Dragon Ball Z is, I find myself gravitated to the original series much more. The fantasy elements, the humour, the carefree nature, all of that was largely downplayed in the Z portion of the story; and while I enjoy both shows, Dragon Ball is where it all started, and for me, it's a show I can just watch an arc or two of, and instantly feel happier that day. Plus, the dub is much better than Z's or GT's was, as Funimation had just begun to get the hang of dubbing around this time, and had just ceased using replacement music scores, and didn't try to make the show "Hardcore" or "Edgy", which had ruined their presentation of GT.
