Doesn't have to necessarily be too late. I'm pretty sure games can be resubmitted for approval. The dev said that GOG told them they were close to accepting it, so there's still a chance.

Though i really dislike GOG's curation at this point. I can sift through the garbage that comes with more lax curation, but if a game isn't on GOG at all more often than not it simply means no DRM free option (not in this case but often).
