Ultimate Domain
Bump. Embarrassing that this is on Steam and not GOG.
So yeah, this needs to happen GOG. like asap....please
How close is GOG at getting this game on here?
I hope to buy this from GoG
I really hope this one gets released. I still have the CD, but getting it to run on a modern PC has been impossible. Won't run in any compatibility mode, won't run under DOSBox, won't run under a virtual PC, just will not fly period. I just want to play this game again.
What I don't understand is that Genesia/Ultimate domain was a Microids game and GOG have an agreement with them according to Wikipedia; so barring some major technical hurdle the business agreements should be in place already?
This has to be the first game I ever beat. I got this for Christmas one year and it turned out to not be the usual garbage that my parents bought for me. I played this a ton my fondest memory was building the hot air balloon and dropping bombs. Anyways I hope to some day see this because I have looked for this game all over for a few years now.
Sorry for double post but I forgot to say the floppis my brothers had were labeled Genesia, not Genesis and I grew up in the North of England. Also the very battered manual for it is titled Genesia which I've never had the heart to throw away. I've still got a Crusader No Remorse manual for the same reason lol.
I rememebr getting my butt kicked by my older brothers on this all the time. I'm sure they got me to play for that very reason lol. Still though, I remember the game fondly.
A great game!
Please make this happen! I've been wanting to play this game again for such a long time.
Also, it was known as Genesia (not Genesis) in all Europe. Maybe it should be released as "Genesia: Ultimate Domain" so that both EU and US folk could identify it quickly. And this way, everybody would know it was a GUD game. ;)
The author is working on a modernized version, which also should be on GOG when finished, by the way. www.genesia-game.com/en/blog.html
Used to play this quite a bit as a kid. Don't remember if it was on Amiga or PC. I never was quite successful, me being less than 10 years old and not really understanding the mechanics. But I remember it being fun. Not sure it would be fun today, anymore, but would definitely have a lot of nostalgia factor.
The CD-ROM version of the game is the one that I, personally, would prefer, it being the one I grew up with.
GoG deserves to have this game...and so do we!
Lost so many hours to this game... would love to lose some more!
This is a good old game. It should clearly be here.
One of my favorites. Definately something I'd buy
Also, I'd like for both low-res and hi-res versions to be available. I had the game on floppies. It was distributed in the box as the low-res version; but you had an order for the hi-res version if you thought your computer could handle it. I did so. The graphics were very different, too: in the low-res version, they were a lot more cartoony, while in the hi-res version they felt they had enough pixels to do something more realistic-looking. (Honestly; I felt the cartoony design had more charm and character.) Anyway, the floppies got corrupted and I lost that game. :( I'd really like to have it in a functional form again.
I'd love to get this from GoG.
