A lot of games will never be published in the gog store it is a fact! For different reasons many games will never be published in the gog store - fuck_DRM policy (or at least gog trying to pretend DRM-free), absurd terms of cooperation that gog is pushing, support policy that is completely frustrating and disappointing, and of course non-professional personnel.

AnakiMana I have all my original discs and game cases/codes, but The Sims needs to be easily available and easy to get working. I think I'm going to have to create virtual disc images and use a VM, and it sounds like this project will take me a whole weekend. I'd rather throw more money at this problem and be done with it.

rick_m1990 Just spent too many hours getting The Sims 1 version 1.0 running on my Rog Strix windows 11 laptop. I bought The Sims 1 verison 1.0 (no expansions) from amazon, paid shipping and waited weeks. I also bought an external CD player for said laptop, paid shipping and waited weeks. about 100 dollars. So boy was I excited when my parcels arrived. I plugged in the player and put the disk in. Installation was quick with my SSD and everything was going well. I set my compatibility mode, launched with admin, ran everything recommended for the game to work. I launched the game and was given the option to Play (the option reads install first) and I hit play and nothing. Hours I tried and nothing. So began my search for answers and I found one called Oracle Virtual Machine, Then ran windows xp on that program, had to get my CD player added to windows xp, then start the installation in xp. a couple more tweaks for rescaling and finally I can play V 1.0 on my windows 11 laptop.

Humble_B Considering what a hideous abomination The Sims 4 has turned out to be (and has only gotten irredeemably worse), we need the classic Sims games more than ever, especially the first two games and the Stories series. A PC port of the early console/handheld games would also be great. The latter perhaps for Digital Eclipse?
