ik9001 Agreed this is still an excellent game. I still have my original versions of these (discs and also converted to ISO files) and play them when time allows. The issue for GOG might lie with the rights to use the Tolkein copyright though. I think EA were only allowed to use them with these games for a finite period then when that ran out they pulled the plug on the servers.

falconknee121 +1 While I think it would be cool for GOG to reach out to Middle Earth Enterprise and strike a deal, it is very unlikely. For those of you who wish to get the game working, there are some unofficial patches and mods available that not only gets the game working on new hardware, but also allows you to play online.

viciouspotate Absolutely needed after it being left being for no good reason. Not sure why this wasn't capitalized on sooner other than all the hell it's been in for licensing apparently. This is a must game to all collections even if it is just to look at it. Lmao
asbrandr BFME 2 was one of my favorite RTS games ever made. the ONLY way to play it now is through an extremely convoluted process of installing the game with old cd's which is impossible on many modern PCs that don't have disk readers, or pirating the game and then using your real cd keys and installing a program that dodges the disk reading requirement and all that could be avoided if GoG let me just REBUY the damn games with modern PC optimizations.
