The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim
Hate steam, love GOG - where is my Skyrim!!!
I bought it on Steam but still used the crack because I hate having to stay online or go through Steam every time. I also have it working fine on my Mac this way too. I've definitely buy it again here on GOG just like I did with Oblivion so I can cut Steam out entirely. The whole thing about how Steam is integrated into it is bull$h!t. If the cracked exes can bypass Steam there's not problem with cutting it out. I've played tons with tons of mods and it works fine.
Lol. Before buying Skyrim, I played it a little using a not-fully-legal copy.

Worked PERFECTLY without Steam.
How can I remove my vote for this, would not buy it any longer.
"GoG When will you release the Game?"
"Bethesda can't really keep this game Steam exclusive forever, as that's just unfair, especially after realeasing all the other Elder Scrolls games on GoG." Bethesda's excuse is that Skyrim was built from the ground up to work with and only with Steamworks. And it would be IMPOSSIBLE to remove the steamworks integration because it's SO VITAL and why would you want to anyway because it adds SO MUCH VALUE? Pay no attention to the fact that there is no steamworks for Switch. Or XBone. Or PS4. (though there probably is for Oculus, I must admit.). And also ignore all the pirates who seem to be running the game just fine without it (for a Bethedsa game, I mean. There are limits to even the power of The Jolly Rodger.).
I'm still waiting for GOG to purchase the rights to sell this game. No other way I will want to own it. I will never fall for buying something ever again when you are actually just leasing it. If it was a car, they would be sued. GOG tells you like it is, mostly.
I own this on Steam, but I would not mind buying it again.
I only have this for my pc, xbox 360, xbox one, ps3, ps4, psp, switch, playstation VR, Oculus, and i hear a version is coming out which works on my toaster. I really hope they can sell it one more time on Gog though.
Oh, I'm sure beth$oft will keep the original Skyrim locked on steam forever, especially now that they're getting away with PAID MODS with the 'special' edition... I will NEVER buy a bethe$da game new EVER again, especially with them wanting to go all-vr. I honestly don't see how those things are selling; vr headsets have been (as much as I hate the thought of using such 'facts') scientifically proven to mess with one's equilibrium, resulting in nausea, vomiting, and the like. Might also be the fact that I've fourteen cats and four dogs in a small house, and that I'm fat and lazy, and that my head is probably too big for one of those things.
Bethesda can't really keep this game Steam exclusive forever, as that's just unfair, especially after realeasing all the other Elder Scrolls games on GoG. I know Bethesda released a VR version a couple of years ago, but that shouldn't have any delay on the original being on GoG. Bethesda need to pull their fingers out of whatever orifice they're stuck in, because The Witcher series is stealing a march on them.
In good conscience, I can not vote for this game on GoG unless Bethesda adds (frankly introduces is a better word) value to it by fixing the bugs it has known about for literally a decade. This will never happen because they have decided their is no money in it. But honestly, if I have to fix a game with ten year old bugs in it myself I can not justify paying money for it.
Tikkia...skyrim runs in wine, but there are flaws
FinalFaith...take your meds dude, you seem to be sperging out on the internet
I want it! :D
Masterpiece!
Umm... jenifaerie Skyrim is made for the Windows operating system, and it is a Steam exclusive game at that. How are you getting it to run on Linux?
Because they want you to play The Witcher 3 and download GoG, which is bascially a copy but in thier universe. Simples. Plus Gwent is just all bots now, The Freedt**d community strikes agaiin wanting to sell accounts. Open Source sucks and always has done, because its "free" it has no one to answer to. So no one striving for safe coding or dealing with hacks/cheats to keep customers. I respect thier "utopian ideals" but they are a pipe dream. If you want things free go hunt animals and cook them for your dinner using flint and tinder. I'll no doubt be hacked or haranged for this post, showing thier true colours of what they are in general terms.
I also don't like the fact i can't change by account name, everyone / a lot know this name and harass it. Another thing they can't be answerable for? because they are open source. Stick in telemetry GoG and see all the reprobates run away and make new accounts. The Actual GoG client isn't being updated enough, its not secure and it prolly never will be being open source, its a shame, but true to my knowledge. Still theres more important things in the world that gaming.
why? it's already on practically every platform.
FYI, I already play Skyrim on LInux Mint Sarah LOL.
It's pretty much stable, unless I add too many mods. So you have to pick and choose. But for the most part it runs as expected.
As a side note, I have both Vilja and Sofia (the funny voiced follower) and they use dialog I never heard on my Win 7 box.

I would like to see it on other platforms such as Linux and Mac OS X.
Well, they just released some Quake and Doom games so it's likely Skyrimm will be here soon
