I distinctly remember I played a demo for 'The Dig', back in the day which I remember as being pretty good. That demo ended with the part where (Spoiler Warning!) someone falls.

So there is 'already' a functional and 'approved' demo for a popular game somewhere in the Lucasfilm archives. While I'm sure there would still be a bureaucratic process, I would imagine that an already existing demo would speed up that process quite a bit.

I am also aware that there is a demo already available on the ScummVM page, but users that never used ScummVM before wouldn't know to look there. There are other demos for Lucasfilm/Lucasarts games around, but like I said: I remember that particular demo being pretty good. It could act as a gateway for users to try out ScummVM without having to commit to a purchase that requires unfamiliar third party software. There's always extra encouragement when a trusted source dangles a price tag of "Free" in front of a customer. ;)
