stevethepocket "Barely gets 60 wishes"? There are hundreds over in the other thread. Granted, that's for Strife in general, but obviously Night Dive's rerelease is the version we'd end up getting.
SuperEuroJimmy I sent Night Dive an email asking about Strife: VE on GOG. They said they were waiting for Galaxy to go live. Now it went live, this shouldn't take long. At least it seemed like they're not forgetting about this.
skeletonbow This game was kind of a first-of-it's-kind when it came out. A friend loaned it to me briefly and I barely got much chance to play it at all before he took it back. I've always wanted to play it since but it seemed to be a game that vanished and most people didn't seem to hear of it. I think the noise of other more popular games drowned it out at the time. I definitely would love to get a proper working copy of it through GOG.com though. Add it quick before I win a free copy on steamgifts.com!

Gaerzi I don't know if it's NightDive that figures GOG is too small and insignificant to bother, or GOG that figures that a game that barely gets 60 wishes is too small and insignificant to bother, but it appears pretty clear that Strife is never going to get here.
mickebaest According to their twitter, it will be released on here. It's been 2 months since they wrote that, though. Personally I'll wait some more months before giving any money to Steam.

But this possibility is a little bit buggy for the moment on Linux because of missing headers. So bring out the game, GOG-Team! For Linux and take my money.

Gaerzi Strife: Veteran Edition is quite different from those other rereleases. First, it does include the original game unmodified. Secondly it was made by people who are very actively involved in the Doom modding community and lean heavily on the "purist" side of things, since they're behind the "Chocolate Strife" port (which is named like this because it's the next best thing to "vanilla Strife"). doomwiki.org/wiki/Strife:_Veteran_Edition doomwiki.org/wiki/Chocolate_Strife
urielejh Only if it is the original, like duke nukem and shadow warrior, and not the remastered versions as those on Steam (duke nukem "megaton" edition, shadow warrior redux and strife veteran edition). i just want the original game made compatible with modern system. Great thing GOG released the original games and not the "new" (bugged, non-original) ones.

Seriously though, I want that game for many reasons but I don't want to buy more things on Steam. And Night Dive also said it was available (at the same time as Steam) from the Humble Store and directly from Night Dive's website, but it's not...

ASpootifulMind It's abandoneware and runs easily on Doom ports such as ZDoom, so adding it to GOG should be quite simple.

SoanoS My friend is making a Let's Play series of it, really hoping to get to play this myself too.
He is running it on ZDoom engine to allow better video capture. I think the GoG version, if it ever comes available here, has both the DosBox and ZDoom port included.
Once it appears here, it is instant buy for me. Even if it meant I will starve for a few days.

Though you can use zDoom to run this guy, it has a few bugs and I'd like to see a clean version with the mouse support added. I'm not even sure where the right are, what exactly happened to Rogue?
