Steam is a pain because there is too much control over you and you are forced to update thus erasing or disrupting your previous saves.

Monkey_Magic After I discovered this game I eagerly logged into GOG & typed "Stellaris" into the search box and then ......, nothing. No one should be made to feel like that. c'mon Paradox, all I want is to give you my money!
indomidable Also, looking forward to this (After all the DLC is milked). Which consoles never invented DLC's, I loved expansion packs ~20+ hours of new content, new equipment, etc. for ~5-$25, now $1 for a recolor, $10-$20 for maybe 10 hours of gameplay.
Warezsec I'm surprised this isn't available on GOG already. I just hope if they do allow their game to be sold on GOG they also offer the Linux version.
elethio So, I use Steam nearly all the time, I have hundreds of games there and I virtually never use GoG. But, today I searched for Stellaris on the GoG store, despite haveing the full game, and all the DLC, it has become simply too frustrating and pointless playing Stellaris on Steam.
I've played Stellaris lots, but I like to mod it now, and make use of teh awesome steam workshop to trick out the game anyway I want.
However, you cannot opt-out of updates on Steam, and Paradox are not accomodating enough with their betas or other methods of protecting modded games.
Long story short, whenever they releae a mod it breaks my savegame, and makes the it less and less likely that I'll be able to get the same collection of mods running twice in two games (because not everyone updatees their mods for each patch and I don't blame them).
In the last five days Paradox have released two updates for Stellaris, breaking my savegames twice in less than a week, and effectively wasting 30+ hours of my time.
Please GoG get Stellaris.
To make matters worse, the second patch was not a "hotfix" it was just a couple of minor features that didn't make it to the last update.. and definitely not worth starting the game from the beginning for again.

micktiegs_8 Reality is - Paradox are complete assholes when it comes to bringing games to GOG. Having Steamworks in your titles does not make your games Steam exclusive... Only a fucking moron would believe that shit, and it has been disproven time and again that Steam mandatory games are also available DRM free here on GOG. Dying Light is a shining example of this. Simply put - they don't give a damn about this community, and never will, so stop squirming in front of them.
