TIE Fighter Collector's CD (1995) is THE version of TIE Fighter to have, and we don't have it yet! Only the 1994 and 1998 releases, which are quite different. The same goes for X-Wing (1994), also missing from the Star Wars releases so far!

I am one of the many, many people here who would beyond thrilled to have the 1995 edition re-released. If you can at all make it happen, GOG, please get this definitive edition!

It was downright cruel to not include the expanded missions in the Tie Fighter release! I have my CD from the Collector's Edition, which I haven't enjoyed since I ran a Win98 machine. I don't have the patience for futzing around in DOSBox or getting a bootleg copy. I'd be happy with the 95' release as well! C'mon Gog, I need my Tie Defender missions!

PLEASE!!!! I've waited almost 15 years for Tie Fighter, BUT Collector's Edition Tie Fighter. It's the MUST version to be released.
Big step to do the original game, you have done the biggest part, now complete your good work. I'd gladly pay 50 bucks to play it again. Please guys...

I actually just reinstalled this from my CD. It is the definitive version. I'd probably buy a digital copy as well.

I love the iMUSE soundtrack too, and you can restore it to the GOG release of TIE Fighter 98 with a single step. Do a search for "TIE Fighter Reconstructed" at savingcontent dot com and it's all there. It works quite well and I'm happy to have more or less exactly what I wanted without resorting to begging!

Everyone is right on the money about this...95' Collector's Edition is the best. Everyone who bought TIE Fighter on here should get it free because that is the version they thought they were receiving

DOS Collector's CD is the definitive/Goldilocks version. The other versions are nice to have (though I never cared for the '98 remakes), but the best version is the one that's missing.

I'm actually surprised they released the XvT engine version at all; DirectX 5-era games are only going to become more and more of a compatibility nightmare going forward; while dosbox runs the dos CD version well, and will work on non-windows platforms.

- TIE Fighter + DotE add-on ("TIE disk")
- TIE Fighter Collector's CD ("TIE CD")
- X-Wing Collector Series, of which TIE Fighter was a part ("TIE 95")

... the Collector's CD is *the* definite version of the game.
Granted, it does not use the fancy "X-Wing vs. TIE Fighter" graphics engine, only a higher-resolution (640x480 vs. 320x200) version of the "TIE disk" engine, but... iMUSE!!!
