Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic completed
It's happening! :D
I hope that guys from GOG will add not only KotOR, but and as many Star Wars games as they can. It's my favourite franchise from childhood, so I am little sad that there are no that games.
I'd like to see KoToR on GOG and I hope we can play with recent drivers and os etc.
I can't imagine seeing KotOR on GOG. Perhaps in an alternate dimension where some respectable company owned the rights, sure, but this isn't that universe. In this universe the Sith Empire owns the rights through a subsidiary called "Disney".
If it is done, I hope the game can be played on computers with recent processors.
Seems even less likely now, seeing as how Disney seems keen to completely abandon all the awesome expanded universe stuff... :(
KoToR 1 +2 released on GOG would be a god send....
can't remember if I posted here or not, this and KoToR 2 are by far the best Star Wars games. They are both RPG and Star Wars! I have this set on DVD but the installation system for win 64 bit is autrocious, I would be willing to rebuy here to replace my flaky win 64 KoTor1/2 "collection" and it's House of Games of an installation program. "round n round she goes will she install this time, nobody knows?"
I have wanted to complete this game for years!!! I had the game way back when it was new and never completed it and for years I haven't had a system that could play it. If I could only load it onto my MS 8 computer. Please add this game!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Please add this classic to GOG!
This game is almost impossible to run on Win7! A GOG release will be awesome!
I remember playing this game back when I didn't even speak English... but that didn't stop me from loving this awesome game! Since then I've replayed it on the original Xbox but it was a rental on Family Video so I couldn't finish it and now that I have a capable PC I would LOVE to buy it DRM-Free! make it happen Disney/EA!!!
would be awesome if this happened, word on the street is that steams version is garbage
Best Star Wars game ever I think. And a very good RPG. I´d like to play it again.
Yes, please. The game would actually work right if GoG sold it, unlike Steam's version.
Thanks Patrick for your simple fix of Dec 15 2013, I am eager to try this. The game in both CD single game form and DVD "Collection (I & II) form is available on amazon, and a couple of other places. I posted about this page in amazon reviews because so many people have a hard time finding fix solutions to run the game on newer win7 and newer pc's. Besides, maybe it'll induce some to browse good ole' GOG. :)
Please add this game and working for windows 8.1. i don't even remember how many hours i burned on 1 and 2 i just know it was alot
it would be nice if a deal could be struck between gog.com and the best mod teams out there.
providing with their downloads the best mods or unnoficial patches
masquerade has v87, kotor has tsrlcm & m4 78
Yes need this for Windows 7 and Windows 8. Steam version crashes 99% of the time after cut scenes.
I would gladly pay 100$ to GOG for getting Kotor 1 and 2 without bugs. It is so worth it.
I also have the original game disc but it still crashes on Windows 7 after cutscenes. And unfortunately I dont use Windows XP anymore :/.
On the ios platform please fix the bugs I'm tired of it crashing all the time.
The steam version is for Vista and XP only, which I obviously do not use.
The game needs to be somewhere that is not steam. On a service where the service providers actually care about their customers.
Oh..really want KOTOR I \ KOTOR II to be here, with TSLRCM also. I can't play it event in Windows XP with 4:3 screen..
Delicious
Steam doesnt work. You got to use their server to play the games. Thats fuckin lame. Gog is much better. Gog-Bill Gates Steam-Patrick Swayze... I rest my case steam sucks.
Y Pablo tengo Calrone Y Nosotros Hamburgasa Anos! (Basically bring this game here!)
@hito1 People here generally do know Steam exists, and have formed their own views about it...
Guys download steam and create an account with them. They have these games for sale I believe under $10.
Great game, but awful movement controls. Still, you have my vote.
Once more -- please get both games out here! Now that you're adding more FLAC soundtracks, please get the hi-res FLAC versions of the soundtracks for both games, also. THAT would be awesome!
Thanks again for all the above-and-beyond service that everyone at GOG.com brings!
Add it... and soon!!!!
Please get this game soon. I REALLY don't want to have to buy it from Steam :{ Please make it work for Window 8 and 8.1.
GOG.... Just... make.... this.... happen :-). Soon. Oh, please include mods for a seamless transition to newer OSes i.e. widescreen mods, texture packs etc.
KotOR 1&2 really fits GOG and I want this games badly
Yes GOG.COM,i want this game so much.Played it allot when i was a
kid. This game is a must play and must have.
Kotor1 & 2 are always in my favorite list. Kotor1 can be played in Windows 7 and Linux (with Wine). It might be hard for GOG to put it on sale with DRM-free. But I do wish for it to happen. :)
yet another thing - I would like to stress that the stuff below works happily regardless of whether 'threaded optimisation' in the Nvidia driver menu is set to auto, on or off (I have forgotten about other driver settings allegedly problematic with SWKOTOR 1&2) - I just use my preferred settings (visual quality more or less maxed out) without taking any consideration and it works beautifully
for those of you desperate to get SWKOTOR1 & 2 to work on Win7/8/8.1 the following might help:
one trick that might work (it does for me) is to install it, then copy it to a different directory, then uninstall it and kick out everything referring to it from the registry (the same also works for SWKOTOR1) - and voilà, run your copied version (either through the explorer or the command prompt - in the case of SWKOTOR1 you do not even have to worry about adjusting the number of CPUs used and priority level - works quite simply like a charm in my case on Win8.1 64bit with an NVidia GTX570 and the currentl driver version (331.93) - even stuff in SWKOTOR2 like the Coorta scene on Peragus station where you have to use consoles and look at camera footage to trigger off stuff works (without flickering and then crashing) - you do not get any flickering when starting/loading etc. - both games run and they do so rock solid! all you need to do is put the respective CD/DVD in the drive for copy protection reasons - should the game suddenly minimise (e.g. in some cases when a cutscene is supposed to be played in SWKOTOR1) all you need to do is click on the icon in the taskbar and the game continues to run happily
(with newer Nvidia cards particularly SWKOTOR1 is known to just minimise and rien ne va plus - with my little piece of home surgery both parts nevertheless work)
with SWKOTOR2 you should definitely use the restored content mod plus robot planet mod (after having installed all the patches and the better cutscenes and music upgrades)
by the way, my trick works with both my original German retail versions (4 CDs plus manual etc. each) of both as well as the English collection (1 DVD each)
I have to assume that the only reason it's not already listed here is that it is a LucasArt game, and I don't thing GoG has any of those. That said, I want it. Bad. Specifically I want a version that runs properly on my machine, playing videos properly and not locking up every ten minutes.
One of my favourites from my PC days.
Would certainly love to see it on gog.com! The one I one refuses to run on Windows 7 x64 no matter what!
I never played this game so I would totally buy it on GOG.
Best SW game EVER!
Please Please Please!
one of the best if not THE best Star Wars games ever! A must-have for GOG!!! I already own it but would buy a proper win7 version from you the first second you add it to your store
Also, it wanna see it in 1920x1080 which the game doesnt support.
Definately needs to be here. I'm playing it right now and running fine on Win 7 x64, but only after a lengthy installation process following some online guides.
Would love to see it on modern systems with all the kinks sorted out so everyone can enjoy it.
Please, for the love of god, fix this game! I'll buy it at full price if need be. I just *can't* get it running on Windows 7 64 bit.
I've been scouring the world wide web for the ability to buy this and its sequel. I have found it, but I would rather wait for GOG to get it and actually make the game work out of the box, rather than having to 'jump through hoops' to get it working - and possibly even without cut scene movies? No Way! Need the movies!!!
Please, GOG... fix this game, and its sequel!
Like most of my GOG games (so far) I already own the boxed game with discs and such. I no longer use a PC game box, but a netbook with no drives. So far all of my GOG games run beautifully on it. If I need to upgrade this in the future, no big deal. I like GOG, so here is where I shall remain!
I'd buy them from you guys, hands down...
So the 10th anniversary is right here? Now what? Halo-Fans were treated an updated XBox 360 version of Halo: CE and Disney/Lucas Arts won't even go so far as to enable a GOG-version... Let alone anything beyond some pregnant articles across their websites. What a shame - sad.
Ten year anniversary of this game's release in just a couple days, be a very fitting time to make it on to GOG!
