jovan.tancic2002_8 I've sent GOG DMs requesting this game hoping anybody would see lol. This game is half-broken but the source code has been released about some time. archive.org/details/990901-1219 This is exactly what devs/GOG would need if they're about to release this game. It's one of the few, if not, the only Star Trek game that is not on any gaming platform, nor you can buy it anywhere, 'cept when you get it physically, it's a wonder whether it would run properly. Obviously CDs require setups that will not even open on new OS. GOG should seriously look into this title.
Azsharra Fun game I played as a kid but felt buggy at times.
I remember that after several missions in, the game would break and become unplayable for me with a C++ error. Had to reinstall.
The Klingon advance mining and regular mining stations seem to have had their mesh swapped. Same deal with a Klingon and Romulan turret.
No idea what colony shuttles were used for. When I razed buildings, it resulted in deaths. You think they would use the shuttle...
It was cool to have an RTS Trek game featuring land based units.
GerritDLX I'd love to see this game show up as well. I spent loads of time playing the evil Federation. Roj Blake knows what I'm talking about!

MasterAlienhead GOG does not do Good Old Games any more. They have become the Corpo monsters that 2077 had you fighting against. just look at their New Releases section.

troyston21 would instantly buy it again just as i did when armada 1 and 2 hit the store, they were my top 3 all time favourite star trek games, i still have them all on disc but sadly wont work on my modern rig, it was a great rts game, with a good story can remember playing with my dad after school, jeez it really was that long ago haha

tinkicker I still have my original cd's that came in a set with three other Star Trek games. I've gotten it to run on Win10 but it is glitchy. Can't expand if from old aspect ratio to 16:9. With every new version of Windows I've had I've tried to get it running, and I won't give up. But some help would be appreciated. I primarily use Linux now, so that's my next exercise.

KansasGuy2012 I love this game and still play it today :) If anyone is interested go to this website, www.pcgamingwiki.com/wiki/Star_Trek:_New_Worlds and follow instructions on how to get it running! Sometimes it crashes sure but it generally runs pretty smooth :) I even stream it sometimes :)
bentremaine please please bring this back i loved this game as a kid and havent been able to get it working on a mefern day system since the early 2000s whre it was released the nastolgia would be awesome :)

sade14 Plus; the musical score and composition really do complement the experience in the same way that the score of StarCraft informs both the story and game-play. - That alone sets it apart from the derivative and, rudimentary polygons aside, makes it worth consideration. - At least in my opinion.
sade14 Presently, this title is considered abandon-ware. I don't think there is any chance of getting original build or source code and right's holding over the "Star Trek" brand is murky. However; it is reasonably easy to port the release to windows 10, mac-OS and Linux via a wine-skin. I have an original version of the game running at the moment in a wine-bottle set for Win98.
Though I am sure my comment will never be read; this game needs to be played. Though the control interface is backwards and non-intuitive and the graphics are nothing by the standards of today, the storytelling is stunning - building stakes through ever-changing shades of grey with wizened and believable dialogue.
Both the narrative and the way it is told builds a coherent, evocative, and compelling universe as was the style of Interplay games produced and published back in the late 90's/early 2000's.
I don't believe it is possible to fix the major stumbling block for many customers. Principally; switching it out of 4:3 and into 1080 semi-widescreen. However; there is a small group of Interplay, story, and even Star Trek fans who would appreciate the effort.
Bronson_Primus Dear team at GoG, please consider that many people would love to pay money for a re-release of this classic game in a functional version for Windows 10, such as myself.
GoG needs more Star Trek games in general, and you know that there are still some classics out there, that you can add to your gaming library.

NCC24656 @craig.knapp1 u can run , ST SFA, and ST KA on win7 and win8 ive got them to work but the only problem u will find is the move \ cutsences are blocky
Bansheedragon75 I believe these games mentioned here, New Worlds, Star Fleet Academy and Klingon Academy are considered abandon-ware, since the studio that made them no longer exists.
I would love to have these games on GOG as I cant get them to run on win 7, but I'm not sure how GOG deal with abandon-ware titles.
However if GOG can add them I would certainly buy them.
highlandbrute this would be a great game to get on gog, was always a bit beyond my pc's comfortble operating window, so never actually finished it but definaely one id like to see and play again
darkfall13 Star Trek has some great games in its lineup but New Worlds is always the one I think back on.
craig.knapp1 Many of the Star Trek games on the GOG "wishlist" actually run on Win7. However, ST New Worlds, ST SFA, and ST KA, are some of the ones that do not run on Win7.
I hope that GOG can get the rights to update these games.
hayley06 I've seen some negative comments regarding ST:NW but it was always one of those "one more turn - wait, where did my life go?" games for me.

craig.knapp1 A "beautiful to look at" though somewhat flawed in gameplay, cross between Starcraft and Star Trek. Never worked well with anything newer than WinXP, and XP treated it with a certain amount of "quirkiness". I think an updated version of this game would be a great addition and a "coup" for GOG.
