Soldier Of Fortune 2 completed
Thank you GOG!
Thank you so much for bringing us these classics - even bought 3 just to say thanks to you <3
I worked on this game as a beta tester for over a year. After the game was finished and released I played it as a consumer for years. I still go back and play it every once in a while. Its been years since I played it and have since lost my copy. I just might have to buy a copy of it. Are any of you still playing today?
@millertime56 - if your only gonna play it on your private lan you should only need one copy. when you install it on each machine just type in whatever you want for the serial key. the only time its checked is when you attempt to play online. while your in a match your CD key is stored on an SOF2 server. if another person attempts to join a game with the same cd key it will tell them the CD key is already in use. But on a LAN setup it doesnt run this CD key check. Just make sure when you setup your 4 computer LAN setup that they are all connected to the same router, but not connected to the internet and everything will work just fine. That is unless they patched it at some point. but the last time I played it a few yrs ago they didnt change this.
I soooo wish this would be played some more again. I still remember the golden days of playing OSP games on SOF2!
lul i am probably the only one who is 15 years old in 2018 that played this game
++++
Played this game actively for 10 years. Sof2 MP had uniquely entertaining balance between counterstrikish slow tactics and quakish fast action. Single player campaign has too poor graphics to impress anyone anymore, but it's THE game that preceeded so popular Call of Duty series (which started basically as a Sof2 WW2 mod). IMO nothing fills in the definition of a good old game like Sof2 does.
Would love to play this again. This game is what got me into shooters.
I've got a 4 pc lan that I game with my grandkids on. I'd buy 4 copies right now!
Bring it back please, instabuy!!
This is a series I missed and I'd really love to play it
oh man, the nostalgia for this game. Had at least 800hrs in multiplayer, was part of a big clan back in 2004 with the best snipers in the game. This game has to come back, seriously random seed maps was a blast.
do it doooo itttttttttt...
Please!
This! this here is the one game I need and I'll be happy.
Just put this for sale and take my money, because this is the game that got me into gaming and I'd love to revisit it, finish it on a better laptop.
Would be an instant buy for me
10/10 would buy again if released on GOG.
Was never much of a multiplayer FPS fan, but this game and Vietcong both reeled me in hard. I became reasonably proficient at both through sheer determination and love of the games. Never felt that way about any others--even Counterstrike--so, needless to say, I havent played an online FPS death match in years. But ah, the memories.
I differ a bit with CaptainCarnivore on how great the onlime community for SOF2 was. I remember it as being riddled with assholes., There were lots of good people, too, don't get me wrong, but the multiplayer was so difficult and unforgiving at times (not to mention intrinsically insulting whenever you were very graphically and unceremoniously dismembered--i.e. pwned--for all to see) that frustration and the venting of same seemed to overcome every player at some point. So those who didnt care much about getting along with others in the first place were a constant hassle to deal with. Believe it or not, many people in that category explicitly felt like their behavior was justified and encouraged by the ultra-violent nature of the game. They felt like the more peaceful players were the interlopers, and that those should have been playing some other "care bear" shooter if they couldn't stand the heat...
One thing's for sure, though: the MP was intense. I really do miss it!
Still one of the most detailed games ever made when it comes to violence and gore. Definitely worth putting on here.
I want my violence, and sufficient campaign...
SoF II had some of the best PC FPS multiplayer, and one of the best online communities, I've ever experienced. That's all gone now that GameSpy bit the bullet, kicked the bucket, rattled off, shuffled off this mortal coil, etcetera etcetera. GOG has the ability to revive that.
It seems weird that you can't get this classic anywhere. Does anyone know why it hasn't been released digitally? It uses the Quake 3 engine, so there shouldn't be a problem to run it on modern systems.
i still have a DVD of this but can recommend it as a terrific game - great set of locations engaging plot and a good mix of stealth and action with some cool guns. Personally i thought it was better that SOF1 which is a bit dated now. Would probably buy if on GOG just to have it W8.1-ready...
One of the greatest FPS games ever made, seriously underrated, Halo kiddies would get their butts kicked trying to play this game.
Desert eagle to the arm! Boom, taken clean off!
Soldier of Fortune 2: One of the best stories in FPS history. Best, most addictive multiplayer ever. One of the best AI systems I have ever seen on a shooter. Random Mission Generator rocks! This game will never die, along with SOF 1 of course!
Not as great as the 1st but would still buy.
gog would probably sensor it
I loved the first one but I thought this one was terrible! Good multiplayer though.
want it!!
Yes. Colombian jungle is calling me!
Want!
I miss the mission generator so much, adding this game on GoG would mean instant buy for me :>
Yes, by Satan yes! In fact, can we please turn back time to when FPS games were like this?
I added another request with the full title just to be thorough, as I really love this game. I do hope GOG consider it to be put up, so many memories as a kid. The multiplayer was phenomenal. I really enjoyed it, and still have my hard copy gold edition I bought brand new in the wrap.
up vote from me & also for 1 =]
why you no put games like this on for sale????
Yeahh GOG please add Sof1 and Sof2 !!
Definitely !
This game absolutely MUST be added.
we need this game up!!
Please! For the love of ALL THAT IS HOLY!
NEEDS to be added. This is an imperative to any FPS collection. in my humble opinion.
agreed. i hope GOG adds all of the requests for SOF2 up as one since there are few listed.
Yes, please! This one is essential!
It's a crime that this game hasn't been released digitally.
