The game was finished but due to high controversy at the time the publisher Konami didn't wanted to do anything with the game an by doing so killing the game in the process.

Since it is a very old game GoG can help them to publish it and maybe with enough support we can convince Atomic Games despite it being unreleased and old.

I find it an amazing tragedy that misunderstanding has driven games that try to depict modern conflicts in a realistic manner out of the market place. CoD, Battlefield, ArmA, and even indie titles like Insurgency have been forced to stick to fictional conflicts to avoid suffering the same controversial fate as Six Days in Fallujah. Soldiers who participated in the 2nd Battle of Fallujah actively helped Atomic Games create this game to honor those who fought and tell their stories, and they were stopped due to controversy. In the modern world, films and books about these modern conflicts have to do with this when being created and published, but the video game industry just doesn't have the stomach for it with already being the subject of controversy and still being seen as just a thing for kids instead of a serious medium of storytelling and art. The world wasn't ready for Six Days in Fallujah then, but maybe the world is ready now. And maybe releasing this game will pave the way for more 'controversial titles in the future to be released.

Totally agreed. Films depicting war realistically are OK, so games should be too!
