Sid Meier's Covert Action completed
Would love to give this game a spin!
Dear Fraxis, Im sure you guys have a lot on your plate, But hey COVERT ACTION remake it on an app (or just remake it), it will allow you guys to all retire early. Just don't forget me!!!!! Have a great day guys
This game seems pretty deep. Actually, I'd love to see some kind of modern re-imagining of this.
A remake is a MUST for firaxis!
Awesome game. Really hope GOG releases this, or someone does a remake.
I really love this game. Every few years I return for another run of it. Please add it to your wonderful site. :)
Oh man, I was just about to put up a request for this game! Aw I had written so much about it! Gosh darn! This is one of my all-time favourite strategy games, and I am very sad to see that it's not on GOG at the moment. I really do hope it gets on GOG soon, I am dying to try this game again.
I liked this game a lot: versatility of the sub-games was good and CA provided almost endless playability thanks to the randomly generated missions.
Finally found the name of this game, by sheer accident, and never really realized that this was a Sid Meier game.
If GOG does release this, I hope they get a decent quality manual, instead of the abysmal scan widely available now.
This is a fantastic game which still holds up well today. The graphics may be blocky, but the gameplay is excellent. Among other things: * Hate driving? Wiretapping too tough? You can choose several different ways of advancing. You pretty much have to do the break-ins to play, but you can choose from wiretapping, tailing suspects in cars, and decoding messages; do whichever you're best at. * The gameplay is very subtle and clever. Be *too* quick at uncovering the criminal conspiracy and arresting a participant or two, and the remaining criminals go into hiding before you can reach them. You've got to bide your time, not arresting an individual until he or she would begin to fade into the background of the overall plot. * Game too easy? Too tough? Way back in 1990, Covert Action already had the feature of selectable difficulty levels, from easy to nigh-impossible. * At the beginning, you can choose to improve your skills at activities you're not good at. This makes those activities easier. Between this and the versatility of the four different activities you can engage in, you can tailor this game to your liking to an extraordinary degree. This game deserves to be discovered by a new generation.
nice game which is surprisingly unknown and underrated, even by the creator (wiki: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Covert_Action)
