EddiePhoenix great to see that this thread didn´t die out! Although chances getting thinner that we´ll ever have this wonderful game available on GOG. I´d go so far to suggest a Kickstarter to see if enough people are willing to pay to make this game work on newer system without the god-awfull DRM protection software which literally killed it in the first place. i know i am willing to pay full price today.

Serpent1989 I see right now that the original game had StarForce as a copy protection, this absolute crap I've had to struggle with during the Windows XP days, when I have tried to install and play Worms 4 Mayhem. Unfortunately, StarForce is clearly the reason why Worms 4 is not on GOG yet, while all other Worms titles are. Therefore, I think it is very unlikely that Rise And Fall will ever make it to GOG, as they would have to crack too much to get StarForce finally off the source code and make it also running on far newer Windows systems, which is a big ton of work, just to sell us on old game for a reasonable price, while most people will wait for a big discount anyway, before they will finally buy it. And at the same time GOG can upload 10 new Indy crap titles that need no work at all for 20-30 Euro per piece, which, in my opinion, is insane and is not what GOG once stood for. I still hope for the best, though, but I would not put my hands in fire for Rise And Fall ever being published on GOG, as hard as it is for me to write these lines.
Serpent1989 I am joining in here. I confess that I have never played the game before, but I have seen many videos of it and the fact that I love ancient history so much and also love the idea that you can also directly control heroes like Alexander and Cleopatra VII. makes this game truly interesting to me. Seriously, I would buy this game instantly, just like many others that have left their comment on here. Therefore, I truly hope that GOG can give us this game DRM free and let me allow to have this gaming experience, of which I am sure I won't be disappointed!

QuinnosPL I was having the same problem and I managed to fix it. Here's what I did:
1. Press Windows Key + R to open the Run window. Type in "regedit" and press enter.
2. Go to: Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Midway Home Entertainment\Rise and Fall\
3. Find the entry named "Use Direct Input To Update Mouse".
4. Change "Base" to "Decimal"
5. Enter '1' in the "Value data" box. Click ok.
6. Close the Registry Editor. Start the game.

FlamingFirewire Unfortunately the requirement/DRM for Starforce in the physical game means that this game will likely be relegated to the dustbin of history if not re-released here. Hopefully something can come about to get this game re-released here!
gantor2 GoG this is one of the big ones. Dont let us down. The combat is like Rome Total War..BUT imagine you can control 1 character in the middle of the whole war while orchestrating it at the same time. It's crazy how you can go to first person mode and decimate armies by playing smart.

Please I am begging you how I could run rise and fall civilization at war on windows 10 .
I downloaded the midway_riseandfall.exe and then tried to run it it asked for interent connection even though I have one but it didn't work.
I tried to download the multiplayer version from moddb.com and put the midway data file on the multiplayer version but also didn't work...
please if you could help me I really want to play this game my childhood are there

thejakal I have a copy that still works and i would buy it again if it was on here. Many hours played at LAN parties over the years, back when that was a thing.
Also: Windows 10 needs a registry fix to make the mouse work so make sure you add that in to the install process. (If you don't use this the game starts but the mouse wont move)
