This game was an absolute classic which has been lost. Please bring it back

USER_IN This would be a great addition to the GOG Preservation Program. A real classic for so many of us.
cornbredx I know Ubisoft owns the rights to the license, but why doesn't GOG sell the original? Is it a rights issue held up by Jordan Mechner? It doesn't make sense the classic ports aren't available on GOG still.

Andtha The original Price of Persia (PoP) should definitely be in the GOG Store, as this is a very important piece of computer gaming history. While at it, GOG should secure not only the DOS version (which would be so easy to include using DOSBox), but also the very original -- the 1st and original platform -- the Apple II release. Later versions featured improved graphics and sound. GOG should also try hard to get the best of the original PoP versions, I don't know which one that is, but Amiga, Atari ST and FM Towns comes to mind...
Vargas78 The free microsoft store version people have mentioned won't come up, i can load a link to it via google or bing that directs me to the store and mentions the game. But then it says 'The thing your looking for isnt here'
neumi5694 Different classic prince of persia versions can already be downloaded and played for free from the Microsoft Windows store.
But having one here ... why not.
What would also be cool would be a conversion of the XBox Live Arcade version. That one is ace. But that ain't gonna happen :)
MicHaeL_MonStaR It's actually strange that it's not on here since Ubisoft put most of their legacy titles on GOG already. - Perhaps it's a rights thing or something?... But yes, this was one of my very first games, so yes.
