Outwars completed
I want this game back! Maybe it hadn't the best gunplay ever made, but the jetpack mechanics were unbeatable, just amazing!

I just purchased the Japanese release and will be uploading it soon. Be aware that the 3rd party tools zip file contains several files that will trip virus scans. See you in the skies.
C'mon GOG, After extending our release of cyberpunk please bring this one back and give us something to play untill then. Thank you for any consideration.
The jetpack stuff in this was ahead of its time. Outwars deserves a spot on GOG.
For any win 10 user still interested in getting Outwars to run in 2019: The method provided below by Ronroken which links to the downloadable Outwars Package by Strider ( outwarsneverdies.board-directory.net/t19-outwars-easy-installer-image-automount-script ) doesn't work anymore as the exe file wants a specific deamon tools lite version installed. Win 10 isn't compatible to this version anymore, though.
Instead, when downloading the package, manually install a win10 compatible Deamons Tool Lite version from the interwebz, mount the game and install it as administrator. You might also have to install Direct Play (old win feature) when prompted. Execute the shortcut to Outwars as admin and with win98 compatibility mode activated. Works like a charm!
I never owned this game, only had a shareware version of it back then and played the first 2 levels over and over again.. I just remembered flying around with the jetpack was such great fun - I even couldn't remember the name of the game! Thanks to this site: www.giantbomb.com/jet-pack/3055-6/ where you actually can filter games by objects (!) I found out the name again: OUTWARS! For the sake of my long gone childhood, pleeeeease give us Outwars!
Just found my old disc and can't find a single patch for it, would be amazing to play this again on GOG
One of my all time favourite games. Flying, gliding, jetpacking, great wide vistas... Some newer games have captured the feeling, like Firefall and hopefully the upcoming Anthem. But Outwars was a gem. I would love to see it on GOG.
Hello folks!
Outwars was one of the first game I ever owned, awesome stuff. I played through the campaign recently and I would love to see a reboot of this game. So I started on my own. On my spare time, I recreate Outwars from scratch in Unity.
I was able to convert all the PCX files I found on the original CDs in PNGs and found the briefing videos and the music tracks. I even found all the briefing texts and mission maps. What I am lacking are the full visual in-game content really.
I am more of a developer than an artist. I can create UIs, physics stuff, scripts (weapons, AI, missions, ...), etc but I need help on 3D models/sprites/textures/FX and so on.
Here's a footage of what I have done so far: www.youtube.com/watch?v=3zNsjF5C7Os&feature=youtu.be
I am trying to reproduce the exact same feeling than the original game with the aim of improving the experience with modern tuning. This is obviously (very) preliminary work.
Anyone interested?
Please get Outwars to GOG.com !

I've been having one heck of a day trying to get this game to work on Windows 10. It would be a godsend if GOG could get it going.
This came out in 98 so I was 6 when I religiously watched my dad play this for hours. This was before I could read well...I snuck onto the computer and figured out how to get into the first level and then I freaked out when I couldn't turn off the game. What key turns it off! lol good times
Remember being only 5 and getting so terrified of this game but I used to run around the multiplayer maps. Only had the demo and would love to try this game out again and relive my child hood memory! Would be an instant buy!
yes!!!!
so much fun playing online years ago!!
please host on gog!!!
This would be amazing to have on GOG.
One of my "memories" games back then. I think I got it together with the Sidewinder Joystick and it played so good. The shooting was just so satisfying.
Picked up the CD copy recently after having memories of playing the Demo as a kid. Lord, this game is still -rather- badass. Please, put it on GOG.com. We want to shoot bug aliens in space like proper starship trooper-like marines. If only we could have a re-make. It would be hella awesome.
The fact that this isn't on GOG yet is a crime.
whats up guys i miss you , i miss this game so much , any chance you guys play this game someplace ? id like to try and play it after 10 year absence
This was my first PC game, and my favorite by far. I played the demo version endlessly over on SP, MP, and LAN with my friends and through MSN Gaming Zone.
I have the retail CD version, but I'd love to have it on GOG fixed up so higher resolutions could be used.
A remake would be even more boss... This is what should have inspired Halo more, especially the jetpack movement. I always felt this was more challenging than Tribes at the time.
At the time, Outwars was my all-time favorite SP PC game. It was long and difficult, and I never quite finished, but what a fun ride it was! I loved the creatures, I loved the way the jetpack controlled, and it ran fairly well on the rig I had at the time. Still got my boxed version, but would purchase it again on GOG in a heartbeat.
Want it. To fly through all that space.
I still have this but it's in my parents loft. This on GoG would be amazing and an instant purchase. The game was amazing then and it probably still is. It brought amazing innovations to the genre but didn't get the credit it deserved.
I played the demo a lot in my early childhood. I only just remember it, but I would like to see it on GOG.
Played the demo over and over again, loved the game so so bad. The controls worked, the jetpack was the best ever and since (seriously - what game has better jetpacks? Stable when they're stable, and you're gonna fkin die the moment you misstep), and the combat was rough. I'd like some humans to bully, but whatever.
I'm a big fan of SingleTrac, but I never got a chance to play this game. Would be great if it was added to gog.com.
Was an amazing jetpack shooter <3 had the demo, bought it on ebay, omg so fun, memorable campaign and music.
Please make this game available! I would definitely buy it. And port to Mac too if its not a big problem.
Luckily I bought this back in the day, but it really deserves more love. Would be a great addition.
Didn't even know Outwars had this many fans.
For all the old schoolers this is a great game
I remember the demo,I really want to try the full game,it's been years.
Singletrac's best game, deserves a revival!
oh yes, this one! I tried to get it work with burned version but I cant save my progress :( any help?
One of my childhood favorites, please bring Outwars to GOG!
This was one of my favorite childhood games. I found it to be much more enjoyable than Microsoft's later game series 'Halo'.
Please GOG, let this classic live again!
I own this game and it works 100% perfect on Windows 7. I'm running a toshiba satellite P series. Nvidia graphics. No compatibility mode or anything. Great story, great music, fun play and fun cheats.
I was told the copyright on this game runs out in 2014.
I own two copies of Outwars. It is an incredible game. It needs to be brought back. However, anyone who has the game can play online using voobly. There is also a facebook page for a group called Outwars Never Dies that is worth checking out. Here's the link for voobly. www.voobly.com/games/view/Outwars/Voobly-Lobbies
Game was great, awesome music too. Been waiting forever for someone to make a sequel or something. It really needs to live again.
This game has awesome level-design, totally amazing. I remember having played the demo a hundret times over. It was (and is still) hard to get a grab on this game. When i finally found it on ebay I was one happy son of a gun. Should be hard to bring to gog because it is owned by Microsoft but who knows....my guess is that Microsoft dumbed the Outwars premise down to what we now know as Halo.....too bad. But the website is still around and i visit it regularily just to enjoy it.www.microsoft.com/games/outwars/I am still waiting for someone to do a remake of this game. In the meantime, i will gladly play the old version on gog.com. please please please.
An excellent game in every way! I still have the CD version (took me ages to find), but it is a pain to run on Win7. Please, PLEASE, make a GOG version of Outwars. I'll love you forever!
This game kicked ass! I mean, it had jetpacks, aliens, badass weapons, and was pretty unforgiving too.
So awesome to see other people have played this! I too played this when I was younger. I use the love the environments, jet packs and lasers, it was a kids sci fi dream! To the Outwars players, there is a game on the latest generation consoles called "Dark Void", it was a so called weak "spiritual" successor to this game Outwars. It could be misclaimed but its something to look at!
I member playing the demo years ago, and was fairly impressed by it. I also remember what a pain it was mis-judging your jump, running out of boost, and plummeting to your death from one of those mile-high platforms.
This would be really cool. Really unknown and probably great game. I've never played this, that's why I want this on the site.
Loved the game but prob never going to be released...
This was fun! The controls were a bit akward but still great. Its like Tribes, UT or similar games where you are a jetpack trooper in a semi big terrain and you got mines, blaster laser rifle, grenades etc and you do different objectives. Was really fun and ahead of its time. Part of the MIcrosoft Games initiative that followed with the launch of Windows 95 in its day.
