No One Lives Forever 1 & 2
Get the games guys!
This is going to be a hard one. Night Dive tried to set up to remaster it back in 2015 and that died on the vine because the rights are in limbo, split between companies that care too little to identify/verify what they received and sold on in their acquisitions. See kotaku.com/the-sad-story-behind-a-dead-pc-game-that-cant-come-back-1688358811
There are already patched/modded versions of NOLF 1 and 2 for modern computers and operating systems (here -> nolfrevival . tk).
I would so buy the series!
Yes! That would be awesome.
¡Siuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu!
I wish the three wish lists for NOLF could be consolidated - there's a lot of love for these uniquely fun games!
Remaster would be wonderful! The game is still fun with the old graphics, but we could introduce a whole new fanbase to these wonderful games!
Oh yes! Even better would be a remaster by Nightdive.
i wish this would be available on gog *fingerscrossed*
classic nostalgia
GOG just buy tall the rights to this! noone is doing anything with whatever parts of the intelectual property they might have, just buy it all! I promise to buy the games full price if you do! :-)
Instant buy!
I was looking for NOLF in your GOG Shop just yesterday! Pleeeease release it!
Why do people create these duplicates? It just takes votes away from the one that has the most votes.
I would go so far as to say that No One Lives Forever is one of the less well-known milestones in gaming history. While gameplay wasn't groundbreaking, story, acting, and an eye for detail elevated NOLF from ordinary shooter to a surprisingly deep, funny, and memorable experience.
Its follow-up, A Spy In H.A.R.M.s Way, echoed much of its predecessor, but didn't quite catch its atmosphere and imaginative soul. Less firmly tongue in cheek and more cliché. Despite which I would rank it well against similar games of its time. Not a top ten, but a decent outing.
There was even a third game of the franchise, Contract J.A.C.K., which I personally never played, but seemingly retained too little of the charm and class from the original. Supposedly a prequel to A Spy In H.A.R.M.s Way, and more of an expansion pack than actual game. Reviews were tepid, and it sold poorly. As, to be frank, did the entire series.
The original studio studio behind the games, Monolith, still exists. But they don’t hold the IP tights. These, and the studio itself, have passed through many a hand. The currently assumed owners are Activision, Fox, and Warner Bros,. Neither of which have shown any interest in resolving the ownership rights. Publisher Nightdive Studios tried valiantly, but were given the cold shoulder. Despite this Monolith has expressed interest in making a proper NOLF sequel. And Nightdive studios apparently holds NOLF’s source code, ready for remastering work.
Hopefully GOG can prevail. Perhaps even partnering with Nightdive for a remastering of the entire original series. Pretty please?
GOG, please add this game somehow. I've wanted to play them for so long, and there is no real practical or safe way to get them. Please, if there is some way to do it, please fo
Please.... get them in!
I hate that NOLF is in legal Hades. It was one of the smartest, smoothest, and funniest shooters of it's generation. It's Emma Peel with Bond's gadgets, plus great voicing, a really good mix between weapons, stealth, and social. I would absolutely pay full retail if GOG could acquire it. Probably never going to happen, though. My understanding is 3 companies, each with a sliver of the rights, are locked in a death spiral over pennies (literally) per sale. The truth is that all three companies could make bank if they got their shirts together.
Just so people on this one know, it nearly happened. Night Dive had an ad campaign all ready to go. You probably won't see NOLF on here any time soon if at all sadly. As the people who own the rights are too lazy to check their paper files to make sure they have the rights.
It's really that hard to use the search option? NOLF is already on the list.
I would pay full price for these games on GOG
I would snap these up in an instant! I have both on disc but they wont work, wont even install actually. I beat 1 but only 1/3 of 2. These would be an AWESOME addition to GOG!
I really Really want to buy this game, I lost my physical copy a long time ago, and want this badly as Digital. Please GOG add this game
This would be an amazing double-pack of games...assuming that someone could get through the minefield of ownership rights.
THAT WOULD BE EPIC IF UM UHHHH I COULD PAY FOR THIS PRETTY EPIC GAME
Ohh hell yes we need these two games!
