Mickers In the kickstarter campaign FAQ, it says that all games will be released digitally starting with GOG.com, so Myst III will be coming

scaptal Hey there, I found the cd of Myst III Exile but am unable to play it, I inserted disk 1 of 4 and ran setup.exe but I got a fatal error, anyone know how to fix this? I'd realy love to replay it

loki1969 All this, I've Myst on dvd, but there's a host of graphics issues even when running on compatibility mode. A digital version would be perfect.
matthew180 I have this game brand new in an unopened box. Bought it when it came out, but obviously never played it. Even though I have an original, I would rather buy it again digitally on GOG. So much easier than messing with real media.

5pyr Cyan would need help getting the rights back first, because Ubisoft doesn't seen to care about the MYST games. Also would be nice to play without having to buy the disc version and then use residual VM.
Peterroxible If you are still unable to obtain a copy of Exile somehow, you can download it for free in 5 different parts. Search google for Myst Exile ISO. You will need to use winRAR or some other rar extractor to extract the files. You must download ALL 5 parts of the Exile ISO before extracting them. If you try to extract them without all 5 then you will run into an error that will prompt you to obtain the remaining rars. Once extracted, you can run the iso disc file and then run the setup.exe to complete the installation.
piquing@duck.com So here it is, over two years later after my last comments... and still apparently nothing. (Sigh.) What do we have to do, Kickstart this?!? Have someone reverse engineer a copy and port it so it will play on modern systems? (PS, a Mac version would be nice...)

jloar13 This was arguably my favorite Myst game growing up. I remember watching family members work on Myst and Riven long before I played them, but this was the first one I raid to play. I would absolutely LOVE to see this (and Revelation!!) on GOG so I can download the whole series. Come on Ubisoft!

horstfreigang Just tweeted to Ubisoft and and asked them if there is a chance for Myst 3 und Myst 4 on GOG. Maybe you should do the same, so they know that there is a demand.

skeletonbow Lots of "Come on GOG, make this happen" going on here and not enough "Come on Ubisoft, make this happen". If Ubisoft offered Myst 3 & 4 to GOG I'm sure GOG would take them in a heartbeat. The only way GOG can "make it happen" is to simply not reject the games when Ubisoft offers them which requires Ubisoft to first "make it happen".

blackiris Please get Myst III Exile. The story is incomplete without it. I would buy all the Myst & Uru games if I could get the entire story. Especially if they all run in Windows 10, though running a VM is still available if necessary.

Says0 Just installed Myst III: Exile to Win10 Home build 14342-1708.
It would not run at first ...then I installed ' residualvm ' and the patch they have after First installing the patch from the Myst III site.
Opened and ran Mist III then had to leave so I shut down, when I came back and started from a cold Boot Game would not run from Residualvm,
BUT it now runs from the Home screen Icon. WHOOT

Joeybonezz Please take our money and place this game in with the entire collection. They are all great and Exile is a gem in the series. I would buy it in a heat beat. The only reason I'm writing is because I was buying the collection from GOG and saw Exile was not there. Please add this one (And 4 as well :))

Mouse0Doom Myst III: Exile is my favourite Myst game. I know that others seem more complex or have better aggregate reviews, however, the art direction and detail of the scenery within it made me instantly rank it as one of my all time favourite games.
I genuinely hope that GOG will be able to come to an arrangement with Ubisoft for the right to sell Myst III, DRM free on their site. I am not going to hold my breath though, Ubisoft has a poor track record when it comes to DRM and they currently make some terrible game direction choices, which point to too high a level of group-think without critical reasoning and in house criticism for such a thing to take place.
sreamer17ydr Wouldn't be hard to get them to work on Win 7 because I own the physical DVD copies of both Myst 3 and 4, and they both run fine on my Win 7 64 bit machine, so GOG wouldn't have to do much to the game itself, just get the rights from Ubisoft.

ken42 Ubisoft and Presto released the game and it would be the best playable Myst in the whole series.Absolute must to have in the Myst saga.Come on GOG start looking.

Nomad161 Got it going in Win 7 with fresh install, ran patch 1.22 in the M3 directory (available at ResidualVM.com - THANKS - hard to find), set - on the shortcut desktop icon only - Compatibility Mode to XP Service Pack 3, run as administrator, and change settings for all users. Did not change the .exe file. Plays at least up to 2560x1440 in a widescreen mode (1 inch top and bottom are black).
BLEUDRAEGEN I found a program from the people who did SCUMMVM that will make MYST III EXILE run on Windows 7 and 10. It is called RESIDUALVM. Google it and ENJOY.

brianb54 I can get the CD version to install on Win7 but not run. Really would like to play this again but will be out of luck until it's GOGed. Pleeeeease...
motub This is my favorite of the Myst series. I replay all of them, but Exile is the one I return to most gladly. The puzzles are thankfully somewhat easier than Riven's , and the story is engrossing enough to motivate you to stretch to solve them.
Not to mention--- the absolute **best** reward sequence in any adventure/puzzle game, EVER. I would really love to see it here, to complete my collection.

Slai79 Myst III: Exile is the best in the series IMHO. I have them all, but recently I had to upgrade to a new Win 7 laptop, and now my Myst III CDs won't install no matter what I do. I can't wait for GOG to get this! ASAP, please!!!
