John Romero's Daikatana completed
Sweet, it's finally here!
It's here!
The only reason why we want this is to say that we own Daikatana
... if only ...
It's pretty damn bad, yet I really, really want to play it. :-)
Computers today is easy to use.
Daikatana was a great game, awesome, fantastic. I loved it, and still love it. Great story, great gameplay. This game deserved much more...
I recall the soundtrack being pretty good though. That might make a release on GOG somewhat worthwhile.
It should be released as a free game (It was available for free on GameTap, IIRC) so people can laugh at how terrible it is, knowing they didn't have to pay for this garbage.
I want to own this just so I can declare I own a piece of history..... a bad history. Next stop, Atari's ET!
I think it would have its fair share on GOG in the low-price category, or maybe as a bonus for the owners of all the other Ion Storm games.
I hope that, if they ever publish this one, they gift with it a high resolution pic of the original ad.
I'M GONNA MAKE YOU MY B#TCH! Sorry I couldn't help myself XD. Hey I can say that in the Sin comments too :D.
I think regardless of whether this is a "Critically acclaimed" title or not, it deserves to be on GOG due to it's importance in the gaming world and history
I don't care what anybody else thinks. Daikatana was brilliant. Nowhere near perfect, but brilliant. I already have it DRM free from GamersGate, but it deserves to be on GOG. There are so many potential extras GOG could include, not the least of which include proper patching (which GamersGate lacks), editing tools, manual, comic, and possibly even the high quality strategy guide that John Romero himself reviewed on Amazon. :P "Good" is subjective. Especially compared to the N64 version. You want bad, try Daikatana 64. On that note, N64 and GBC roms of those respective versions would be great extras to throw in, too. On a side note, GOG would need to do nothing as far as compatibility is concerned. The GamersGate version of Daikatana, fully patched, will run flawlessly in 32-bit XP and Wine, as well as 64-bit Vista, 7, and Wine. I know, I've personally tested it on all of these platforms. I even managed to achieve a decent framerate on a Linux netbook.
