To Carighan's question: it is a bit of both. It appears you get to see the 8-year-old Ruka and her time with Rei, but the story with Ruka & Rin in the present also continues.

Cant wait for this to come out, Loving the first game so far from my playthrough and love it's creative fun story. I'm sure this one will be great for the series when it drops.

Is it a prequel or a sequel now? Or do you mean it was made later but tells the preceeding story?
