Cyberpunk 2077 - DRM FREE version
CDPR, please do this!
Please generate offline installers for each Galaxy Reward. You know who's entitled to what. Yes, in the case of Cyberpunk, I want offline installers for each of the 20 rewards.
absolutely agree
I'd like DRM free version, for Mac with Apple Silicon.
Never mind. I see it is cosmetics. Yeah, not a big deal I guess. Wouldn't use them anyway.
I played Cyberpunk from the offline backups. I didn't see any DRM from beginning to end and it is an enjoyable experience.
If you are referring to achievements... How are you supposed to compare achievements and show achievements if it is not online?
Maybe I am not following, but I do not see any DRM.
I want to see cyberpunk 2077 run on linux. I wont buy until it either works on wine/proton or natively as a elf executable.
I agree : put My Rewards as DLC content for each games. Don't force players to use your client for getting extra content.
Make it Free again !!!
And here's the archive of the FCK DRM page that they just *happened* to delete: web.archive.org/web/20201225003258/https

Forcing us to use galaxy is unacceptable.
Just for the reference, some of the "exclusive" Galaxy items can be obtained using Cyber Engine tweaks without using any Galaxy. At least I've tried a few and it worked.
Nice click-baiting title (in a good way for a change!), I get the point: yes, GOG, the games you sell and all their content should be fully enjoyable offline, and you should set the example with your first party games!
Guise, that ship has Sailed (with a capital S!). If gog's steadfast refusal to provide offline installers for the cosmetic crap in Cyberjunk 2077 didn't make it abundantly clear where things are headed, maybe them patching client-gated cosmetic crap into 7-year-old Twitcher 3 should've made the penny drop. Or maybe that question in their recent-ish survey that asked you to rank on a scale from 1 to 5 the importance of getting DRM-free games here should've given you some food for thought. If DRM-free is this supposed Core Value (TM), why even ask that question in the first place? Unless of course their grossly incompetent staff is so unbelievably stupid that they're unaware of the implications of this seemingly innocuous question - which is always a possibility. All things considered, you can bet that DRM-riddled Hitman GOTY wasn‘t some innocent mistake, they were testing the waters. And they'll keep testing the waters. They'll keep chipping away at the last remaining core value, all the while releasing self-congratulatory news posts like thatone where they changed their latest definition of what constitutes DRM-free to the laughable "once you bought and downloaded your game, it's yours forever and it can't be changed against your will". Well, no shit! What are they going to do? Send a team of commandos to wipe my hard drive? And when DRM-free eventually falls, they'll point to the survey and go "Many Gamers asked for this!"
You should re title this. The base game is DRM free, just some free rewards DLC is not.
There is no reason why the items should require GOG Galaxy.
Where are the time of Witcher 3 where you jsut offer DLC without internet connection or Launcher?
It's a shame.... WE LOVE YOU BECAUSE YOU ARE NOT LIKE THE OTHER... don't betray your community. Please! I beg you.
This is a shame :/
Please make "My Rewards" for Cyberpunk 2077 and The Witcher 3 available via offline installers. Don't apply Micro-DRM to your own games! What will happen when you inevitably shut down this authentication service? Content should not be locked behind an online authentication! You know this yourselves! That's the whole reason people come to GOG.
I have no issue with GOG account verification requirements on Red Launcher on Steam, Epic and consoles. Gamers there are used to having multiple DRM, multiple launchers and all that nonsense. If nothing else, it may bring some gamers to GOG.
People come to GOG precisely to avoid this online authentication nonsense though. So don't punish your own loyal customer base! Have these items unlocked by default online or offline. It should be a reward for buying on GOG, not a reward for playing via Galaxy. Make Cyberpunk 2077 and The Witcher 3 last forever in their entirety!
This is one of the biggest non-issues i've seen on here thus far
Since I revived this wish, I'll answer. Much like what happened, recently, with Witcher 3, there are some extra in-game items that require using Galaxy to get. It's not much, just extras, but it IS a slippery slope of DRM.
Go to the Store page, scroll down to "Includes Free Additional Content" and click the "Learn More" image just below that. You'll get to a GOG Cyberpunk hub, scroll to the bottom and, again, click "Learn More" about "how to access your digital goodies", which takes you to Cyberpunks's My Rewards page (sigh, so many hoops just to find out). Here, you'll see the Registration Rewards. Scroll down farther to "Claim Your Registration Rewards" and see that you'll need to be playing through Galaxy to get them.
I wasn't aware that Cyberpunk 2077 has DRM and according to the store page, it doesn't. I did a quick search and while I found some reddit posts complaining about it, I couldn't find a clear example of what's locked behind DRM. Can you provide an example of what those of us playing offline are missing out on?
