sleutelbos Definitely want to see this on GOG. I dont habitually ask for this or that game but it would be such a shame if Ascendancy would end up lost in time...

chujikim It was the First online game I ever played . I played it with my son. He's grown with kids of his own. I loved that game, mostly for the haunting music . I would buy it immediately if I could play it again. I have the CD, but can't get it to play' even on DOSBox. Ive seen it advertised on Ebay for 100.00 but I doubt it works. It would make my day to see it on GoG.

XKAL I've spent many years blocked by the endless slew of MoO clones, knockoffs, and inspired by's. Only today have I been able to find this game again. The key search words that led me to this discovery were "4x game with amoeba like species" and even then it was only through the image search. <br /> <br /> I never had a chance to buy this game(child) and I'm eager to own it for myself. This game needs to be remembered, it was my first 4X game, and the MoO series never came close(ignoring the AI problem).

chr0mej4ck Yes to this game. Played it a ton on my first decent x486 computer back in the day. Have the CD and can still play it fine, but I'd still love to get a digital only version.
JGH58 The original CD installs and plays fine in DOSBox (on Windows and Linux, never tried Mac).
AMaxfield I have the old CD game, but it will not even load on my new 64bit computer. Please provide a version to play on modern machines.

Bearhug_at The game was not just fun. I have also as soundtrack collector VERY fond memories for this game soundtrack. I truly hope GOG will integrate it in a release as the game would loose a lot of its charm without it.

salvehaus I still have this CD but no documentation. From what I understand, the company that made it (The Logic Factory I believe) went out of business. I also heard years ago that no one ever renewed the copyright and that it was considered "abandonware", though I have no idea the official legal status atm. I'd be happy to send my CD to GoG if they wanted it.

GameOD Wish they made a remake of this in the MoO style engine, just for nostalgias sake. When we were young, games came on floppies from unknown realms, 2 Pearls all my friends missed until I pointed them out were jagged alliance and ascendancy. One pearl I missed even afetr being pointed was xcom heh. I did catch up though.

Kakarot96 I bought an old iphone only to be able to play this. So, yes, i will gladly buy it here to be able to play in pc again. This is a must, a great missed classic.
BamH1 I still have my original copy of this game on CD and play it often with the "antagonizer" patch that the logic factory released. Unfortunately even with 7 races, in war mode in the smallest possible galaxy i win every time within 1000 days :( Unfortunately, the Antagonizer patch is basically just a cheat buff that gives the AI players better stats. The poor AI and lack of multiplayer was what stopped this game from gaining the legendary status of MOO2. I play with DOS box on win7 without any noticeable issues. I was hopeful when the iOS version was released that they would develop it further to it's full potential. I don't have any iOS devices so I was hoping for an Android port, but looks like from what others have said, that they put the whole come back thing in the too hard basket and went home. Crying shame.

tuffsnake I loved this game back in the day, got it on my phone too a year or two ago - will have to transfer it over to new one manually I guess if I can't pull it down from the apple store
mnevill I would love to see this game available from GOG. Loved to play it back in the day. <br /> <br /> They would have to include that fan made patch though that improved the AI.
Donnicton The last I had heard from them in 2013 was that they "wanted to" but they were too busy with milestones for the QA required at the time. <br /> <br /> Unfortunately the company died in 2014, shutting down their domain and no longer updating their Facebook page, and no longer responding to contact attempts. The iOS version has also been pulled from the store and purchase history of everyone who had purchased it. I haven't been able to find anyone involved with the company, so this is probably the last bastion of any chance we'll get to see the game on a purchasable platform.

Endoria ascendancy, one of the best 4x games i ever played. looks like yesterdays dinner by now, but the game mechanics and balancing keep me going back to it every now and then. hey gog, if you guys manage to get this running and sort out the law / rights problems, i'll take a copy or two. :)

Chewster I just did some digging around the net and found out that Ascendancy 2 doesn't seem to be happening, and that the Logic Factory's website is for sale. I was sorry to hear that, this being one of the childhood gaming pearls I kept returning to. I really hope this game can be resuscitated here on GOG, since it's status as abandonware seems dubious at the moment.

Melonfish There was an AI patch for this Logic Factory released a while after the initial game came out, it was well worth getting! Ascendancy will always remain one of my favourite PC games, I have the retail and can run it through dosbox without issue but i'd love to see it on GOG.

Fortuk A 4X classic in the proper sense, in that it is still superior to many modern games in what it does. Good UI and an excellent soundtrack by Nenad Vugrinec. An oddly memorable part is the game's stellar tutorial and how it avoids overloading you with shortkeys to remember. The different civilisations were also actually alien, rather than re-skinned humans. <br /> Absolutely needs to be on GOG, maybe with some of the supposed AI enhancements ported over from the ill-fated iOS version.
X-pert74 It kind of boggles my mind that this still hasn't been rereleased on PC while it got an iOS port years ago. This game would fit in perfectly with GOG's store.
Dominius I do have a retail version somewhere, But I would love to see this 4X classic here on GOG. Ah, fond memories and it had a 3D tech tree ;).
