Red-Shell-Ray while the Aladdin MS-DOS version that is currently on GOG is based on the Amiga version there is also a different PC version of Aladdin that is based on the Sega Mega Drive\Genesis original and was also made to run natively on Windows 95. <br /> <br /> this Windows 95 version used Midi files for the music so depending on which sound card you used back in the day it could either sound horribly bad or really good <br /> (nowadays to get midi music to sound good on modern pc's you need to download something like BassMidi or VirtualMidiSynth along with a good soundfont) <br /> <br /> as for proof that this version exists i could only find this video on youtube: <a href="https://youtu.be/d3kLPLS9rO0" class="light_un" target="_blank">https://youtu.be/d3kLPLS9rO0</a> <br /> <br /> as you can see in that video there is an issue with the game speed and that is cause the game speed is unlocked for some reason and while i don't know how to fix that (or to even get it to work on modern systems) i assume it can be fixed by locking the game's frame rate to 60FPS <br /> <br /> as for getting it to work on modern pc's i think the GOG team can find out how to fix that issue since this video i found: <a href="https://youtu.be/EBRLWINCqlA" class="light_un" target="_blank">https://youtu.be/EBRLWINCqlA</a> shows it is possible to run it on windows 7, 8, 8.1 or 10 (i don't know which windows the person who uploaded the video is using) (the reason i don't use that video to show what the game looks like is cause that video is rather short) <br /> <br /> also sorry for the amount of text there is
R93 Hello, I am from Germany and I have the Win95 Version by Virgin Interactive Entertainment GmbH on CD. This game does not run very well on my Win7 PC. Can anyone help me?
Red-Shell-Ray i completely forgot to mention this but, i don't know if the Windows 95 version of Aladdin ever got a stand alone release, however i do know it was released on Disney Classic Video Games 1 for Windows 95 PC's
Red-Shell-Ray true those windows 95 games that don't use any kind of API like OpenGL or DirectX are really difficult to get running on modern systems <br /> <br /> but like i showed with that 2nd video i found on youtube it is apparently possible to get it to work on modern systems i just don't know how <br /> <br /> but since the GOG team are pretty much experts on getting old games to work on modern PC's the GOG team may still be able to get them to work on modern PC's anyway
Indygo I have to note that the Disney Win 95 titles are bitch to get running on any M$ OS that came after it. It's amazing that those titles won't even run on Win 98! The only other games from Win 95 that have this problem is the early printings of the You Don't Know Jack games.
