A multiplayer online battle arena(dota clone) using characters from some of the good old games.

I've been considering if this wish is even possible on legal grounds, given that many of the games on site are not truly owned by GOG.com. Blizzard is able to do "Heroes of the Storm" simply because the source material the characters are taken from is their own, and "League of Legends" and many others simply come up with their own original content. If anyone would be willing to give me some insight into this it'd be greatly appreciated.

I know many people see arena brawlers as a passing fad(as are most styles of game) and don't feel one would have a place on GOG, but with the coming of Galaxy and it more than likely becoming the closest competitor to Steam, I can't find fault in the money it would bring in as well as be a great gateway into multiplayer for the platform.

As a closing note, I think this MOBA done in a retro art style(similar to what the guys behind "Strafe" cooked up) would be a nice touch.
