Let me add non-gog games to a wishlist, notify me when they come to gog
genius idea of a feature, hope to see it implemented
I am proposing a different implementation here. In one of the videos presenting the new Galaxy 2.0 features, they mention that you can create "universal" wishlists using tags.
The problem with tags is that you have to mark the game as owned to tag it, and it is a right pain when you are checking if you own a game and all the wishlisted games pop up.
If they provided a special, reserved tag to do it (without marking the game as owned, for starters) and then integrate that with the community wishlist, there you go, two birds with one stone.
For a while we got notifications when games we had voted for on the community wishlist got added to the store. They seem to have stopped doing that (I think? They don't release all that many classics that I have voted for these days, but even in cases when they do, I don't think I've gotten a notification).
You can more or less do this already using the website isthereanydeal.com which is the best "go to" site for keeping track of video game prices on the planet. Has way more features than any store would ever spend time working on code for.
What they could do though that wouldn't be too difficult I imagine, is add notifications to this wishlist itself, so when they get a new game here, anyone who voted on it on the wishlist gets notified on GOG chat and/or email.
There are already community whishlist. It would be nice if I get a notification if a whish I voted is marked as completed, but it wouldn't be a galaxy-only feature.
There are several games from the Humble store, itch.io and elsewhere I'd like to be able to add. Originally I envisioned using GOG Galaxy as a general purpose DRM-free launcher, seeing as Steam already has the ability to add non-Steam games.
Very much keeping my eye out for this feature.
