skidmarx I often have spare bandwidth, while browsing or writing on my PC. Plus, a huge library of games. There is no way I can have them all installed at once. In the past, I have manually downloaded the installer, and gone from there, keeping my own backup copy. I would like Galaxy to download copies of the installers, to store on my big slow NAS server, WITHOUT having to "install" the game on my small, fast SSD games disk. But it seems the only way I can get that backup copy, is by installing the game? So, I'm stuck with manually downloading to store for later installation for now... right when I don't want to have to micromanage file downloads.

immersiveSinner @DMSTOWE you still can. Go to your game in Galaxy, click on the extras tab at the top, and you'll see the offline backup installers option there.
I tried downloading from the browser and they kept failing or giving me really bad transfer speeds, (~ 500K /sec) but through galaxy, even the installers were transferring aroung 9MB/s
dmstowe It was a sad day for me when GOG stopped allowing their download app to backup games to the HD without installing the game. It was so easy. Just queue all the files sit back and relax while the downloader did the rest.

skeletonbow Galaxy has been able to download the game installers and backups pretty much since it was first released - without installing anything. It's probably a good idea to find out if a feature already exists or not before filing it in the wishlist. Just clogs the list with bogus entries for things that already exist.
pwyll There is "install" next to "more" and there is no "backup" anywhere until the game is installed. Perhaps you are confusing the website with the Galaxy client.
Chocodino You don't have to install it, go to your library > select game > more > backup & extras, then download the installer
