We desire some kind of solution for getting our newfangled gamepads to work with the games of yore, a la Joy2Key, Xpadder, Pinnacle...

Yeah, without a doubt. I'm an older gamer and because of some of the problems that come with age a control pad is much more user friendly for me. Also I like to relax on my sofa (or bed if in my bedroom when playing) and I hardly ever actually sit at a terminal or PC when playing so a gamepad is much more comfortable. "More gamepad support ASAP please.

But I would like native controller support better than something like Joy2Key, because you can't use full analog functions with those programs and it just feels awkard to always run, even when you're just moving the sticks very little.
