I always had problems with board game like games on a digital platform, because they usually don't use the platform's provided opportunities, but this game is different, it has all the features that I'd need it to really enjoy the game. Also the game offers in my opinion one of the best soundtrack, and the gameplay is fun, I can only recommend it!
Usually I'm not really into space shooter games, but I have to say this one surprised me big time, not only it has excellent writing with a great sense of humor, but it's also challanging (it has a lot of difficulty settings) while being fun to play. The only warning I can think of is that it may take a bit getting used to the controls if you are not used to systems like this. Anyways I really think it's a good game, and for this low price tag it's an absolute steal.
Let me just say this: Since I found Age of Wonders 3, I haven't touched any other 4X strategy game, because this game just resonates with me. If you haven't tried it yet, I would give it a try for sure. If you like strategy games, I seriously think that this is a must have. Note: All expansions are really well made, and worth every penny.
