You've got to fix the game controller suport yourself with third party program like "xinput plus", and the game is not the complete one according to an external source (pcgamingwiki.com/wiki/Silent_Hill_4:_The_Room#Controller_support). Please see forums for this game before buying. I think it's better to play the emulated version than this or to use your old console as i can (but i'm too lazy for..)
The games looks pretty at first, but you quickly have seen it all. level layout is not really good, simple, and not interesting Different weapons with all the same combo pattern and not that much differences gameplay / jumping is awkward monster design is bland a nice idea with "chips" to collect and choose to upgrade your stats too much grind for not really interesting stuff you cannot restart the tower from the last reached floor. The restart the same boring stuff over and over. This games feels like it's someone's first project. Future game from these developper will surely be better, but this one is more of a technical skill demo. Next game, you'll need to do a a lot more game design ! A lot of immensely better alternative : bloodstained, deadcells. If you really are in this kind of game and you already finished them all, then why not. A bit expensive for the simplicity of this game though. Although it may help the dev to do a better stuff in the future
For the price (9€ at launch, 12€ otherwise), it keep me hooked for 2 days, meaning getting to bed at 4am, which is not good :) and i'm not finished with it. So for the price and the fun, this is a good ratio. About the game, there are 5 classes, with the 1st class i finished the dungeon - 5 levels at 1st, then 6 after 1st win). So the puzzle game here is "how to win with this class". Then you can try to change your loadout and your strategy, to find other way to win. Anyway, after having see one class, i'm focusing on the second, arcanist, with which i still don't find a way. My goal is to finish with the 5 classes once, then i'll go to another game. But this is largely enough for the price ! When i finish with a character, i'm understanding what are the other winning strategies, so i'm not really going to try them, too many games to play. Graphically, serviceable, simple, go to fast mode asap. For people who like to play with numbers and global strat
But it happens i'm too old for this, i prefer either real tactical games, or action games a la dark souls. Grinding mini games like an android game is not for me, it feels like a pure waste of time, like playing canding crush, which is, for me, a game for dumb. Choose according to your tastes.
I remember having lot of trouble with ftl, pressure of rebel fleet behind, never enough resources to survives or upgrade. Here, we have to micromanage resource and staff too, +more relaxed than ftl +there is a quick affectation UI widget for staff +fate point you get during a run to make the next run more easy +lots of option and a bit more numbers than FTL +the micro stories during exploration -i wish i could attribute a role to each staff (shield, sensor), that they remember after getting out of cryosleep (to avoid food consumption = music is forgettable from my point of view. FTL music is godlike :) Overall, i really enjoy this game !
