I will say that, for me, the biggest draw was the Co-Op feature. It's hard to find good games that let you play through the story mode with someone else; this game filled that niche nicely. This is no Tenchu; it doesn't offer an absurd amount of execution attacks, if that's your thing. But, I found the stealth gameplay enjoyable. The story is standard, but the game as a whole feels like a labor of love. The mechanics are simple, which makes for solid gameplay that let's you focus on what you're doing without getting caught up on the controls. I much enjoyed it, but your milage may vary depending on whether not having combat options is a deal-breaker for you.

I once illegally downloaded this game and then got some nice mods/texture packs to make it looks nicer. But, I liked it so much that I felt rather guilty for pirating it. So I deleted it. Then, newer operating systems came out and I could play it even if I wanted to--compatibility problems. Since then, I've bided my time, wait for it to make its way into the GOG library... And at last that day has come! I have always promised myself that once it came out on here, I would immediately buy it. So I did--a gift copy for my brother. I'll get mine, eventually, but I wanted to share the joy and excitement of owning this game, first. As for the game itself, it's a bit dated and we have Bioshock now, but it's still fun. And it's a decent challenge. So, I would suggest it for any survival horror fan, sci-fi fan, or anyone looking for a solid, older game. A "Good Old Game," if you will.

As this game is, more-or-less, a precursor to Heavy Rain, you're going to see a number of parallels--as far as gameplay, that is; Heavy Rain is a smoother, better-looking game (also, more expensive) without the writing problem that Indigo Prophecy has. This is not to say this game is without merit--if possible, I probably would have rated it 3.5/5, as it's still a fun game and it maintains interest. The ending, however, seemed more than a little wonky; the development of relationship also did not quite feel flushed out--as if everything looked good on paper, but didn't quite come out as anticipated and then time ran out. So, as other reviews say, it's pretty good up until that last third or so of the game. But, in a way, this is not entirely a bad thing. Sometimes, seeing what almost could have been is useful, if you're like me and look for ideas to turn into stories or rpg campaign elements. If you're looking for something a little different, I'd suggest this game--it was fun to play through, despite the weird ending.

I admit... I would normally give this thing a 5, but my rating is mostly due to nostalgia factor--playing this game as a kid and whatnot. I will most likely pick it up whenever I can--it's too classic for me not to! Plus, fond memories of watching my Dad play it. Also, has some interesting levels and devices. Perhaps, it might best be rated at a 3.5 or so--controls can be a frustration, as they aren't as tight as videogames nowadays.
