I'm not really sure why this game gets so much praise. The main claims I've seen in other reviews were that it was challenging and humorous. There isn't much to the story so the comedy is expected to come from the situations that Simon finds himself in. But the jokes are predictable and the characters are uninteresting, with a few exceptions (I did laugh at the troll on strike bit). I can't argue about the game being hard, however I found that most of the difficulty came from puzzle solutions that just plain didn't make sense. The game relies heavily on just randomly trying to use different items on everything. That's not challenging, it's annoying. There are a number of great adventure games on GOG, King's Quest 6 & 7, Gabriel Knight: Sins of the Fathers, and The Longest Journey to name a few. If you want one that focuses primarily on humor then I suggest you grab the re-released Monkey Island games or hope for some of the old Lucas Arts games to become available here. But stay away from this one.
