Ghostrunner

Tedious and repetitive

Spend hours of trial and error just to get 30 minutes of perfect runs, story is not good either. Get Turbo Overkill instead although it's not perfect either it's way better than this. Other games to get that are also better than GhosRunner. Mirrors Edge Mirrors Edge Catalyst UltraKill

Control Ultimate Edition

Great idea let down by bugs

The weapons upgrade system is useless and uninteresting, you end up with overloaded weapons upgrades in your weapons layout, loads of small increased items, most of them the same. The UI for the weapon layout is also not very pleasing & confusing to navigate. I was amazed 2 see how dis game was allowed to be released with the bugs & bad programming it has, @ 1 part u meet a guard (optional mission) he opens a door with key level 9 for u & follows u around, all is well until u come 2 another door 4 level 9 key (I found out later) which he is also supposed 2 open, but instead he does nothing but follow u or just stand there, I only found out the next day after loading the game again & going 2 the same point he decided he would open the door dis time, & u would think dis was the only bug, no.... u r supposed 2 lead him back 2 help a fallen fellow, which I did & again he stood there & did nothing while I was right beside the injured guard, I had 2 go around the level a different way 2 the same point to get an icon appear on the guy following u which u have 2 press X 2 talk 2 him, very simple right? wrong he was running away from me, I had 2 chase him all over the level 2 press the X button icon which appears on him, I manged 2 jam him in2 a wall & then press the X button, at dis point he then leads u 2 the fallen guard & the game plays the way it is suppose to, & that's the end of the bugs/bad programming right? wrong again, after I had a chat with him after doing what needs 2 b done (he was meant 2 head back 2 a certain point, as in we split up) he continues 2 follow me, but only dis time both of his legs are stuck & proceeds 2 float around after me like a doll being held by an invisible hand, it was at this point I put this game down. The good points of the game are not strong enough to save it from the rest, which are the graphics and the physics. This could have been a great game but it just feels unfinished at best.

Yakuza: Like a Dragon

New Turn based combat Yakuza game

I didn't think the turn based combat would be good, but it is and it can be quite interesting with the different moves with some strategy invovled instead on mashing some buttons, in saying that I wouldn't like the series to abandon completely the normal fighting system either so maybe they keep both. The games story is one of the better written ones in the series, the english voice acting is good and for especially for the new characters, for the older ones it's quite strange to hear, but they done a great job for Goro Majima it sounds like what he would if he spoke english for the most part. The is a fair bit of grinding to level up at parts of the game or if you don't you and your team will not be strong enough to win certian battles. The graphics are good, AFAIK the game used the UE4 and has a unique art style which stands out, I was able to max out on an entry level gaming laptop with just putting shadows on medium and turning off AA with some drops below 60fps here and there but the average would be overall higher. The cast is great, Namba is the funniest without trying, kasuga is a good lead role and voiced well, Kouichi Adachi is brilliantly voiced for the english version and is also likeable character, however Saeko Mukoda is not so much likeable (she plays great with some really strong moves) shes whiny and seems very focused on beaten down the guys alot with men this, men that, all men are the same all men are bad kind of stuff, and do this and that, she comes across as a bit of a man hater to be honest, which makes me wonder why shes there to begin with. Eri Kamataki is a very likable character unfortnately her moves are not great, at least from what I have seen so far. I picked this game up in a sale but I would reccommend the GOG version at full price as you get a lot of stuff to in the game, theres even the arcade version for Virtua Figher 5 that you can also play with two players locally.

Crysis Warhead®

Wild perfromance, needs updating!!!

The game is great, still looks decent and has some outstanding moments, but it needs updating for modren hardware, the performance is all over the place, even with all settings on the Gamer setting it still manages to drop below 60fps at parts and is above 120fps at other parts, stutters here and there too, and the draw distance is horrible even after making a config file and extending the draw distance. SPECS: WIN 10 16 GB RAM (Dual channel) GTX 1660 TI RYZEN 5 4600H If you have a monster CPU with very high cycle rate (6GHZ etc) then you might be able to brute force the two cores (what the game uses) for good constant performance.

FlatOut

The roots of Wreakfest

Solid racer with good physics (still better than a lot of current racers) which paved the way for Wreakfest, which feels closer to Wreakfest than Flatout 2, but only overall bettered by Wreakfest and in someways Faltout 2. It's still somewhat decent looking and plays very smoothly, it features a rock and funk soundtrack from around the time (although I cannot confirm it still has the original soundtrack as I am only playing it now) the game came out. The only issue I have is they did not add proper widescreen support so it will be streached if you use a widescreen resolution, there are widescreen fixes out there if you can find non malware version, I couldn't so I just went with a 4:3 resolution. Got for free but it's worth the asking price, only bettered by Flatout 2 and Wreakfest and in someways the races are better than Flatout 2.
