That's all you do: left or right, and even then it's just trial and error and pure luck. I mean the game's original that's for sure, but it's also boring and frustrating.
After 12 hours of being bored I have finally had enough. I just do not get the adulation that this game garners. I find it boring, dull and tedious. Still, after 12 hours, I can honestly say that I at least tried to like it.
Good graphics that are colourful and well-animated. Intriguing setting and a nice bit of exploration. A few too many buttons to have to remember what each one does and an occasional feeling of 'what now' mar the experience slightly but not too much.
I haven't played it much, I admit. The trouble is though, that I just don't want to play it anymore because it's so boring and even frustrating. It's so simple too, you really only have Left and Right and that's about it.
I loved Settlers 2 and so I rushed out to buy this when it was first released all those years ago. Several times over the years I have tried to play and enjoy the game but i have failed each time. First of all it is quite difficult and yet quite poorly explained; put those together and you'll have a tough game to love. Secondly, it's just boring. Each and every map starts you off with the same things and asks you to do the same things. This wouldn't be so bad if (a) those things weren't quite so dull and (b) if they didn't take so much time! This is a very long game. I can't recommend it even to Settlers fans I'm afraid because the whole thing is just too long, too difficult too dull.
A very dull game that feels like a chore to play, not least because the main character is just so slow. This means that combat becomes rather trial and error as you simply spam the 'dodge' keys or just hide behind cover. In short, it is not the sort of approach that you would expect from an action FPS (in fact it's the opposite from the original). Oh and what happened to the original? Why is this called "Unreal II"? The two games are not related in the slightest. So what we have here is a boring, annoying, finicky, silly and unfun shooter where you spend more time talking than you do blasting (an exageration but you get the idea). My final advice? Stick to the first one.
A dreadful sequel to a brilliant original. It's all just so dreary and lack-luster. Al the good weapons have gone from the first one and silly ones have taken their place. All of the humour has been taken out too. The gameplay is just so bland and unmemorable. Awful FPS, one of the worst ever.
There are some newbie reviers on here who say that the game performs poorly on an ATI card. What they don't mention is that the game performs terribly on any card known to man, regardlesss of the make. This is a nice game but its performance is the worst I have ver known on any game, on any platform. The type of PC you have and they quality of its specs will be of no consequence; just look this game up on the net and realise what a dog it really is when it comes to framerate and stutter (and this is on a very powerful quad-core, 4GB RAM, 520 Nvidia machine. What a joke.
