Medieval Dynasty

DONT BUY, CRAP VERSION TO UP-TO-DATE

The game is great. Buying it on GOG the worse idea, since the game is not updated here, and will get the most major updates only in a few month or years. Yeah, even if you bought the game earliest as possible in early access, no one cares, apparently. (I'll edit this review if it changes)

WARSAW

4-star worth, I give it 5 - that's why

Same as Hovgaard, I gave 5 to counter-balance game's rating being is drowned down by reviews like that from someone @fawexx. Fawexx attacks the game based on his view that Poland is the cause of WWII. Not nazi germany that, in his opinion, valid reason to actually attack. Fawexx claims to be from Poland. But a simple search on Internet will show (gog.com forum, twitch logs) that Fawexx is speaking German and residing in Germany.

Sherlock Holmes Chapter One

walkthrough needed to get around

The story seems interesting, gameplay deduction acceptable, but it still have a outdated design issue. Walk into the water too deep, you reappear somewhere else. Cannot swim? Same area (looking for an escaped animal in the forest), next to the water: invisible wall. Hey, year 2001 is calling and asking that you return their brand new 3D engine! In the end, quite often, you do not know if you cannot do something because of a strange limitation or if it is because you failed to do a prerequisite step. Same area, cannot check the pocket of a jacket oddly lost in the forest with keys in the pocket: the character in examination mode apparently cannot lower his nose. Frankly, I think previous Frogware of the series felt less confusing.

Road 96

childish, boring

I could disregard the story choices that gives the impressions game authors are children (changing a car tyre with a pump? making a crowd boo or cheer by filming with a camera? on what planet does it work?) but the whole is so childish, to the point I could tell it was a french production even before checking that it is actually. Lame unassumed-wokish dialogs, childishing depictions of a poorly invented world. Boring. I've read it was spiritually sort of a followup of Telltale Games: well, Telltales games were never that childish and could bring feelings.

Death and Taxes

misrepresented as in the vein of...

It is sold as in the vein of narrative-based titles as "Papers, Please", "Beholder", etc. It is not really, there is a very obvious right and wrong. There is not much subtlety, not some many sensible choices. Not to mention that the game ask you to finish off people with criteria such as age ("kill off every gramp from this batch") but at the same time promote some garbage english using plural form "they" instead of him/her, as i, it mattered how people would enjoy being referred to at the time of death. And to state the obvious, if him or her is misnaming, why the age or the profession of a character is not? Maybe granpa feel like a kid, afterall.

The Life and Suffering of Sir Brante

Beautiful, interesting

With decent replayability, it is easy to get inside your character. I would recommended to play without the feature that tell you effects in advance of your choices. As pointed out by earlier commenters, that lead to stat-optimization and break immersion. I played without it my two first games. My character died in both cases but choices made were much more consistent with an human being life.

Ostriv

Reverse witcher!

Really satisfying city builder in a central-european modern era ambiance, where you are not playing with the witcher but the village he is passing through. Worth a try if you like the genre. Fast, nice, no bug. Next sept is more content.

Gamedec - Definitive Edition

Good mix Sherlock Holmes/Shadowrun

Quite satisfying mix of Shadowrun ambiance and dialogs/recent Sherlock Holmes deduction system. After a complete playthrough, I am curious enough to replay it to explore other paths.
