Hollow Knight was a fun experience, both challenging and enjoyable. Variety of environments, enemies and bosses also helped to keep my interest. However, I find that a good roguelike game has to be not only hard, it also has to be consistent. If in-game death is irreversible, you can't have random bags (or sneaky screw-player features) that kill the player. And that's what happened in this game. After an accidental boss encounter, my shade got lost, making me loose 2000 geo. That's only one step above erasing player's save file for a random reason. That's not the kind of game I want to put my time into.
