Butcher

Not what I expected

It's a nice little game, but you shouldn't expect getting a power trip from this game. You die insanely fast, have little ammo to spare and lots of enemies to dispatch. It is surpisingly tactical.

Tooth and Tail

Perfect Gateway into the RTS

What you get: An amazing RTS that limits the amount of actions one can do per minute. Low APM was the biggest issue for me with getting into RTS games, but here it is simply not necessary. People saying this is no stress however are wrong. The game still wants you to micromanage and be a quick thinker, as the pace is quite high. Skirmish matches can be last anywhere between 2-15 minutes. Yes, the population is really low, but the community is still active and is organising various championships, leagues and so on. Plus, the campaign is pretty good, now that a difficulty slider has been added.

Hearts of Iron II: Complete

It's old now

Get Darkest Hour instead. It's the better version.

STAR WARS™ Battlefront (Classic, 2004)

Good, but....

First and foremost: I recommend this game. If you like Star Wars, you will feel right at home. Do I recommend it over its sequel though? This is where it becomes difficult. The first Battlefront has two great campaigns, which are much better than the ones in the second, in my opinion. Also the maps are much better designed and look much cooler. Also the galactic conquest is much more fun in this one. However, Battlefront II not only looks better, it also feels better, plays better, has space battles and with the right mods I can get all the content from the first game and more. I think it is great for completing the campaigns, but for everything else, stick with the second. Already have the second and want to try it out? Yes, do it like me, play through the campaigns, some galactic conquests, but at the end of the day, go back to the second one for more longevity.

Hard Truck 2: King of the Road

Absolute classic

This game is one of the best trucking games out there. Sadly my physical copy didn't work on Windows 10 anymore, so hoping for a different result, I bought it here almost instantly when I saw it, and boy is it fun, still today. This is not a classic trucking sim. You have your own truck (or car, make sure to try the M5) and deliver cargoes across the map. So far, so good; but here is the catch: Everytime you deliver some load, you are in a race against your competitors. Whoever unloads first gets the most money for the delivery and on top of that a license to hire your own driver. You can build up your trucking empire by being a fast driver. When I was younger, that aspect turned me off the game completely, but now that I am replaying it, I love it. It makes every delivery mean something. Add to that lots of other features, like the Mafia or the Police both of which you can bribe, shortcuts to discover, stolen loads do find and deliver. I'm not quite ready to call it in-depth, but it is definitely feature rich, and every single one of them feels well implemented and is very welcome. At this price, there is nothing you can do wrong.

Bad North: Jotunn Edition

Decent timewaster

I bought this game on Discord (where it came out first) to try out the new shop. Bad North has an amazing artstyle, extremely satisfying combat, but lacks some content. The core gameplay loop is strong, but repetitive and even lots of cool enemy types won't save that. It is great to waste some time with it, but don't expect to sink days into this.
