These game are way too much fun for Horror Puzzle games. PS: the DLC for Penumbra Black Plague is not good, but you can just skip it. The dlc is 100% puzzle with no story.
The game on the 1st playthrough is OK, or GOOD at best. From the 2st playthrough forward the game becomes way more fun. When you know where to go, what awaits you and how you can deal with it, the games instantly becomes way more fun. Still, Silent hill 1-3 are better in my opinion. The port is amazing, i really hope SH 1-3 comes to GOG.
The remaster has a big problem which is what made the game really fun. In the original you needed to link the pranks to get the 100. In the remaster, you just need to do every prank to get through the levels. Good thing this purchase also adds the originals to your account. The originals require a bit of setup to play, but after that you can experience the games without any problem.
The game is amazing. The port is very loyal to the arcade game experience (you will either dislike this because of the slowdowns or you will love it, i personally love it). This game is must buy, dont skip this game and just play Metal Slug X. This game and X are very different and its worth experiencing. The game is 100% worth the full price. If you are unsure you can wait for a discount, this game is often in discount. This port has a menu which you can config your game how you want. You can choose difficulty, the starting mission, controls/graphics, autofire, etc Slowdowns are not a very big problem, the only part where the frames go down a lot is in mission 6 at the very start with the soldiers throwing the rockets at you. Aside from that, there's slowdowns but its 100% playable and dont really affect negatively your experience.
This Metal Slug port is very loyal to the original experience, this includes the slowdowns. But there's some "extras which i loved. These extras being: 1. Having a cool menu where you can set your difficulty (Easy, Medium, Hard, Very Hard), change the controls/settings(sound, graphics, etc). 2. You can either play the Arcade Mode (From mission 1 to 6) or you can choose one mission in specific to start. 3. you can turn on or off autofire. Conclusion: Amazing Game. Very Loyal port ( i personally liked it).
