Lichdom: Battlemage

mindless first person-shooter

The good thing about this game: It has pretty particle effects. The bad thing: everything else. - It looks more realistic than most games, but everything also looks bland. - The story is abysmal and all characters are clichés. - Voice acting, music and sound effects are mediocre. - You might enjoy the combat system if you like lots of number crunching to determine the best possible combination of dozens of random upgrades to cause maximum damage, even though every upgrade you obtain now will be obsolete an hour later. I certainly don't. - There's barely any enemy variety. You fight the same people/demons/undead over and over in a seemingly endless grind. There are also some technical issues (note that I can run games such as The Witcher 2 or Dragon Age: Inquisition just fine): - The game often crashes after a few hours of play. - The frame rate randomly drops. - There are random freezes during the loading screens. - The game cannot handle nonstandard keyboard layouts. - It also does not gracefully handle being minimized in fullscreen mode (it only reopens after several tries).
