This RPG has withstood the test of time, it's still fun to play even today. Way back when, when Bioware made some excellent games it's a shame the game never had a sequel or a remake it is easily one of the best Star Wars games, and certainly a brilliant RPG that set the tone for many later pretenders and in my opinion was a precursor the the Great Mass Effect. There are damn few games that can top this. It's an action style RPG but it never feels like that because of the clever control system, the lightsaber duels still look flashy even if they are decades old. I doubt anyone out there has never played this game, but if there is and you quite like sci fi and RPGs, I urge you to get it for your collection.

Bear in mind i've only played the single player game, But i really enjoy this space strategy. It isn't overly complicated and involved like some, you just colonise (in a simple way), build ships(fun to put together unique designs) and explore, which often leads to lots of ships blowing up, good or bad. It focuses on intestellar not planetside, and theres only a few resources, like people and income. I got soo bogged down in Stellaris because of the complexity, none of that here. The only twist is in how each "side" travels the universe, some are slow, some are fast but have limits on where they can travel. Its a great way of adding longevity. The game is turn based with real time battles, controls are easy enough, even easier than homeworld tbh. Anyway, thats my take on this game. I think it's very good.

We NEED to hear the dARK dULCET tones of a Keeper once more. The one we have is not crazy enough. First game is amazing. Im still playing thirty years on. You build a dungeon lair. you research stuff and fight off the good guys. Sometimes you torture the good guys to make them bad. in this game you are the evil.

It's an amazing game, i'm no good at it. It's too quick I just can't respond in every direction(I actually did worse the second time I played). I'll keep chipping away at it for the time I have left but I truly prefer Cataclysm and the original Homeworld... I guess I'm just stuck in my ways. BTW, It looks gorgeous, plays a treat. It's a great 2D strategy.

It is an RTS, real time strategy you control units and capture/build things to help you win. Nearly all units you get can gain levels, it's still not an RPG but it can scratch that itch. Units die easily, as does your leader, but you may still win even if they are out of the fight. Massive choice in sides and leader race/class, each side has several units some specialised, some basic or generalised. No one particular side has overall weakness, except from the G'D assassins. I do not like instakill. A worthy ageing game, even now. If you like RTS real time strategy games then give it a try.

dont trust my review unless i've played it.
