Captain Blood Demo

Gameplay a la God of War

This Game has Gameplay a la God of War and others that came after and i really missed such Games, as everything nowadays is going the "Souls" Way. The Demo showed that the Game isn't as polished, but it is fun and has nice Graphics, i am looking forward to get full full Version. So from what i can say: Graphics nice, it delivers the Pirate Theme very good and is appealing. The Gameplay was also nice, you can take Guns from killed Enemies and also take other Stuff laying around to hit your Enemies. Besides your weak and hard Hit, you have a AoE that stuns Enemies for a little Time and a Gun to shoots once here and there. For your additional Defense you can block and roll around. You can grap Enemies and do a FInish Him Move, for heavier Enemies, you have to weaken them first.

Resident Evil 3

First Time through, fun Game!

I had RE3 back then, but I was too scared to play it. The atmosphere is nice, i like the pre-rendered graphics of the city and it has some diverse locations, so it doesn’t get boring to look at. Jill has a new fast turnaround move and can avoid attacks by pressing Aim/Shoot at the right moment. You can now also craft ammo by mixing different types of pulver, even crafting some you can find out in the wild that are effective against Nemesis. The puzzles were nice, the "hardest" one was one in which you had to match a pattern with three different layers, but with a bit of logic and patience, you can solve it. The rest is very "point-and-clicky", you need this and that item to combine and proceed here and there, which I like very much. The story is good and very enjoyable, there’s something charming about the partly amateurish acting. Also, Jill is a very likable character and she seems more like an evolution of her incarnation in the first game. I started playing the remake and i somehow can’t stand her here, she seems more selfish. The Mercenaries mode is okay, i had to watch a video to learn it. Don’t be a fool like me: The first point shown on the map is the end, you must seek survivors elsewhere. I would guess it takes five lucky rounds for the Gatling. I cheated, because time is rare. The rocket launcher and the machine gun are the best items, the Gatling is just too slow for normal enemies and not heavy enough against Nemesis. Within the story, there are some "quick choice events", in which you have to decide what to do and it can end a bit differently, depending on your choices. Also, events can happen differently and items are also a bit random, which gives you nice replayability for a second or third run. Costumes are ready to choose from the start. Overall, it’s a very good and enjoyable game.

Beyond Shadowgate Special Edition

Nice Adventure

I am somewhere in the second Chapter, but i feel comfortable enough to review the Game. I have the first Shadowgate on the GBC, but never got far into it, because i wasn't in the Mood for Trial and Error. This Game doesn't punish you for trying out an dieing, it has very fair Checkpoints and you do lose absolutly no Progress. Until know, if you observe well enough, the Puzzles are very solveable and the Game resembles very much an Click and Point Adventure, as not every Room/Area resembles a Death Pit and you can wander around too search for Items and Clues. The Music is very Good and do Help the Graphics to construct its Atmosphere. And i can very recommend to check the small Map on the left Corner, i was stuck because i did oversee a Room :> I can also recommend to spend the Money on the Special Edition, the Guide is really well and lovely done (only did read it till the sections i am, it contains also History of the Series in the Beginning) and the Comics also give you good Entertainment. Ah, and i personally like Maps.

DOOM + DOOM II

Gladly no Freelook

Gladly no Freelook, it just doesn't looks good how 2D Sprites beave, you would need something as the Voxel Modification. Also, it doesn't really match the semi auto aim Doom i using. Besides of that, the Benefits of this Release are the included new Soundtrack, included Multiplayer for normal Folks and a new Episode. It has more Options and runs with more FPS. I take one Star out because the Bethesda Network is too aggressive in wanting to log in.

What a great Game!

This Game came out of nowhere. I can describe the Graphics only as PSX with a NES Color Palette. The whole Game can be best compared to a JRPG as Final Fantasy, you are running around in a top down View and the Battles are in first Person as in Dragon Quest or Phantasy Star. The Combats you have are not random, so they are well balanced, not easy, but not hard (at least for the two Hours i am in). The Music is really fitting and great, acoustic with a Guitar leading mostly. The Game does set a really good Mood and realistic View of the Time it is depicting, but throws in super Natural Stuff. It takes serious Themes, as Gambling, Alcoholism and the Lost of beloved ones, so you do feel sorry for the Protagonists, but it never takes you personally into a depressing State (what is a good Thing), as the very good Humor, the mentioned Music and also the Combat lifts you up. I can really recommend this Game!

RoboCop: Rogue City

Wow, runs very bad

Wow, my System is over the recommended Specs for the highest Settings and the Game stutters in the Menu. I will refund it, never seen something as bad optimized.

Resident Evil

Thanks, finally easily aviable

You have to go down some roots to get the original PC Ports of the Games nowadays, thankfully the Fan Patches are very easy to find and you can also add better Quality for the Video Sequences. But now you can get the PC Ports right now and play them. If you ever tried to get the originals to start by yourself, you know that theres enough Work put into this Releae. The Games themself are very enjoyable, but you can find a million Reviews out there describing the Games better. Buy it and have Fun
