When somebody mentions Baldur's Gate, fifty people re-install it. To say that this gem is one of the best CRPG's ever created is an understatment. It truly is, at least in my opinion, along with Baldur's Gate II the best role-playing experience one can achive on the PC. The game like so many other great titles on GoG is a dated in the visual department but I implore those who are concidering this purchase to overlook that. You begin as a young student to your foster father Gorion in the library castle of Candle Keep. When something goes horrible wrong you are forced along with your child hood friend to explore the world of Ferune to uncover the truth about what hunts you. Now I assume this version has all the patches and updates since it comes with the Expansion pack, Tales of the Sword Coast. Which is good because the original game was a bit buggy. This game also has a MASSIVE fan community with so many woderful mods that expand the world greatly, while all fitting into the story seemlessly. I cannot reccomend this title enough, many hours were spent with this wonderful game and every one worth it.
