The game offers an enjoyable experience with the exception of controls. You have to use keyboard and mouse to control this game otherwise it simply will not work. You can connect whatever controller/stick you like, but you cannot aim your weapons except with the mouse.
I've been a long time fan of the series and was really trying to give this game a shot to prove all the reviews wrong. Unfortunately, the reviews are correct. The game is still riddled with bugs, most of which are somewhat forgiveable. The one issue that broke the game for me is the horrible lack of balance in combat... not just class/skill balance but enemy balance is broken too. It's almost as if the devs didn't actually play test the game. I was looking forward to difficult battles, etc like the old games, not having non-tanks instantly one-shotted the moment a fight starts every time...even after farming the max XP available to insure I wasn't just under level. This is one game I can't force myself to see through to the end sadly.
This is game is a wonderful work of art! The art style is perfect for the environment and 'feel' of the game. The logic puzzles range from simple to extremely detail oriented. I will admit a few of the puzzles were annoyingly tedious to solve however, the overall experience was great! The story telling of the game draws you in with each chapter unfolding in reverse. I was expecting a bit more length for the price but, I can't really complain... the quality of the experience carries the short play time. I'll definitely be looking forward the creator's next game.
